Could someone snag a pic of him in alt mode with RiD Prowl? I’m curious how they scale
No love or attention to detail? Seriously?
He’s FULLY painted, best headsculpt since...the MP?, and perfectly put together alt and bot modes. HUGE attention to detail.
Forgive me for assuming but I think it’s more a case of “too much like the MP” to feel like something new. Which can be disappointing except that makes it also a fabulous figure in its own right.
Its why i playfully wanted to call him out lol. It kind of reminds me of the pretentious reviews some people write about food....when they have no idea how to cook or even less about the cuisine theyre eating
Well, you know what they say about people that assume... I don't own MP Sideswipe and have no intention to, so that was never a factor here.
I'll be honest: I have one coming in from Amazon and I'm excited for it, but the fact that he's fully painted is a negative to me, not a positive. I don't like paint apart from accents because I like being able to transform the toy without worrying about paint chips and wear. It's why I love Magic Square figs and stopped buying MPs.
Good news is that so far I’ve got no paint scraping. I think you’ll be happy.
Yeah, none of his painted parts rub on each other or scrape past anything. It's a benefit of his relatively stright forward transformation scheme.
If that's the case, then it's one more reason for me to not buy the figure. I echo LoserBroadside's comment about chipping paint from transformation.
Siege Sideswipe is a decent enough update. The robot mode is definitely Sideswipe.
The alt. mode is a really cool retro-futuristic race car that's supposed to be his Cybertronian form.
The conversion is simple enough both ways. The two weapons that he came with seem a little inadequate and undersized, which is why I may leave it combined as his shoulder cannon and have him use Roadhandler and Swindler as pistols. They don't necessarily work well attached to his alt. mode, though.
Sideswipe is recommended if you don't already have the old Universe figure or if you like the alt. mode like I do.
What’s not to love about full paint that doesn’t rub or chip from transforming it?
This, this is making me really consider him. Would the Gear of War Shoulder launcher work with him? That would probably clinch a purchase.
Picked this guy up from bbts.
Finally i have a replacement for my foc one.
I never had the Gear of War set, but if it uses the 4mm peg hole in the Universe figure’s shoulder then it would need to be modified to fit the Siege figure, who has a 5mm rectangular slot in his shoulder.
Seems to be a really cool figure, but I'm trying to control my purchases so I think I'll wait for Red Alert instead, because I enjoyed that one episode in the G1 cartoon where he went nuts
Just got my replacement, no qc issues. Such a solid Transformer.
The car mode is amazing, the red is just right. You have to see it to understand.
I'm quite weak, so maybe I'll end up giving in and buying this guy lol
It's just I know I'm buying Red Alert, so it makes me hesitate a bit in pulling the trigger.
Someone's got the paint pot out:

as was pointed out to me on Twitter yesterday, Firestormers is the name of an early G2 group that Sideswipe was part of https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Firestormer
Loving my Siege Sideswipe. Moans are minor: could do with a spoiler, the missile could do with being white and 5mm handle version of his original gun, but Shapeways can take care of the last of those.
