Because nobody's made this thread yet, I figure I may as well.

    He's a cool toy!

Countdown - simplistic. Has the standard range of motion of all the Micromasters, but a SUPER simple transformataion. He's kinda just the accessory that's neat but more icing on the cake.

Robot mode - where It's At. I do wish he had the old hip/waist design, but in person he's still properly intimidating once you put him in an A stance. Ratchets are rock solid in the legs and he can hold some good poses.

Oddly, he can't quite bend his hips forward 90 degrees - he CAN backwards, however. Knees have 90 degree range of motion, and there's a pleasant angle to his ankle tilts too.

REALLY like the way the head was designed as well - sculpt is dead-on, and the way they did the neck is great, as it lets him look up and down in a fairly natural way, but still allowing his head to go flush if you want that classic Omega look. I really wish the lightpiping was blue, though - it works really well but the yellow is just ... for me (which is why I already went and painted his eyes blue.)

Right arm claw is pretty cool too - I think solid orange would have been a poorer aesthetic choice, honestly. The base of the claw is ratcheted, but all the teeth/stress bearing parts are solid plastic pinned to the clear plastic. Knuckle joints on the claw are just friction joints but they hold pretty well at this point. Range of motion on the shoulders is pretty good too - he has a REALLY good amount of shoulder articulation.

TRANSFORMATION: Super straightforward. Not much to say here really unless people have questions.

BASE MODE: Easily one of the stronger Titan bases - I'd put him up there with Trypticon. Yeah, he comes apart, but that's just how the G1 toy does it. Elevated track looks great, the tiny ramps are a nice touch, and I like the beefiness of his giant tank. Rocket, while a little long, looks good too, and the fact the claw is ratcheted means that it can support the weight of the rocket very easily.

Overall? He's a cool toy. And if you have him at floor level he's SUPER rad to look down at while sitting in a chair. A nice chunky robot that makes me want HasLab Unicron all the more for the sake of scale (given I took a tape measure out to see how tall the ZetaToys one would go up to him, and it wouldn't even go to the top of the head.)

If anyone's got any questions, I'm all ears.

I'd like to see him among his size peers. Metroplex, Trypticon, Devastator or Predaking. I imagine his robot mode backtracks make him as tall as any other citybot.
Thanks for the review, eager to get this fella.

Does the turret rotate in tank mode?

He’s not quite as tall. Not a bad scale though.

As for the turret, it sadly does not rotate in tank mode due to being compose of the head and the turret front.

Yep, your' re right, not quite as high but in the same ballpark.
From your pic I can see I need to rearrange my display shelf to accommodate for his vertical reach.

I suppose I could try a squat pose... nah, I'm rearranging my shelves.

I agree 100% I wish his eyes were blue, I'd even be ok with green, how difficult was it to paint his eyes? I'm guessing you had to completely disassemble the head? Does the light piping still work after you painted the eyes? Are they able to shine blue? Thank you for sharing.

Oh, I sacrificed the lightpiping when I painted them. Knew that I was doing that going in given the shade of blue I used.

And yeah, you have to disassemble the head. It's a couple of screws, plus there's a tiny bit of glue holding it together you need to pry apart. Everything comes apart really easily then.

It'd be REALLY easy for someone to cast a new lightpiping piece.

Ah I see, hopefully a 3P or replrolabels makes a new blue light piping piece

Blue permanent marker works as well, without spending the nutty amount just for a new piece.

I never really cared for the partsforming design of G1 Omega, but this guy looks chunky and fun regardless. Now I actually feel enticed to pick up some Micromasters to go along with!

But that would sacrifice Light piping which for some is important, it's good to have options.

No it wouldn't. Permanent marker isn't opaque.

Why do they gotta glue the heads all the time now? Seems to be common practice with the Siege line especially.

Are saying that marker would still allow for light piping?

Above user said light piping no longer worked but I didn't ask his specific material, marker, paint, ink etc.

Gosh, I still can’t decide between this or Wei Jiang’s Ultima Guard...both have some really compelling pros and cons for a CHUG collection. Wei Jiangs winning at the moment, but a few more cool photo reviews and we’ll see.

Solid plastic on the claw and it’d be hasbro with the win, but I can’t STAND translucent plastic being used in illogical places...

Well, I used Tamiya light blue paint, fully aware that would block lightpiping.

As for the translucent claw, the important part is that the ratchets are all solid plastic.

I try to hold myself to a one-Titan policy, but Omega has really been testing my resolve. Maybe if there's a good holiday sale...

Hi, would it be possible to see it in base mode attached with the TR bases through the ramps? I think there are some TR base ramps connectors on the elevated track..

If possible with Trypticon or Fortress Maximus..

    Thanks in advance!! :)
