On the bumper, I didn't think the four gun/headlights were special enough to keep, so I soaked the whole thing in isopropyl alcohol. It'll be easy enough to add an Autobot symbol if I choose to in the future.

The hardest part for me was the chest plate. I couldn't easily remove the clear plastic windshield, and it ended up cracking from contact with the alcohol. A similar thing happened with my Prime, though it didn't completely shatter the plastic.

I did the same with removing the entire bumpers paint, though I think I'm going to paint them silver on the inside and trim the outside of them in flat black. Should look nice.

That's odd. I soaked my chestplate entirely and the windscreen insert was fine. I even use the 99.99% pure stuff which is very powerful. Are you sure the crack wasn't already there?

There definitely weren't cracks there before -- I actually saw the cracks form in real time after getting a small splash of the 91% I was using. I had heard the alcohol could do other things to clear plastic, but I wasn't expecting this. Shrugs!

Damn that's not great. First time I've heard of it too. Guess I will have to be more careful. Hope you can find a replacement some time.

I'll never dunk a plastic part in alcohol ever again after doing so last year with my Evasion Optimus' foot, which didn't even get all of the blue paint off and ended up cracking at the joint, and that wasn't even clear plastic.

Jeeze, I have dunked so many parts in alcohol and never had a problem. All the battle damage on Siege Megatron and Ultra Magnus, I did guns and parts...guess I'll have to watch my parts in the future when I do this in the future XP

Yesterday I was able to get Smashdown and Firedrive. Their existing is solely for my Siege UM to use them as his hammer and guns lighting effect. Can't believe no 3P reproduce Siege light effects yet.

I just install the leg extension and articulated hand on him. He is almost perfect from my view.

I never realized people were dunking the parts. I always thought they were using Q-tips and alcohol and surgically rubbing the paint off.

I like the hands. Are they a separate item or are they bundled with the leg extensions?

Also, I wish someone would make a better rifle for Magnus. Preferably one that's toon accurate and definitely one that he can actually grip like a real gun and not this nonsense...

How holds a rifle like that?? No one, that's who!

I use 3rd party MP Prowl articulated hand (As I remember, it’s from Fanstyle company)

I noticed that the Armor is either a Homage to either G1 Armor or a bit of the Fans Project Armor (?)

My Magnus has arrived. Damn it, It's too hard to detach his arms and body. Unless, I used Rid bludgeon's sword or any sword.

Finally got him today! And I gotta say, the COMBAT system works wonders with Magnus. Here he is with Sixgun and a few of the Battle Masters:

Fooled around with Sixgun and the rifle from Soundwave for a bit, and managed to give him somewhat of a hammer.

Overall, really dig how heavy-duty he is and loving the war-torn aesthetic of the line so far.

Finally got UM this week. Not much to add that hasn't been said. However, I came up with a decent solution for the cab wheel gaps that I didn't see in the thread anywhere:

    IMG_20191104_124016.jpg IMG_20191104_124118.jpg IMG_20191104_124159.jpg IMG_20191104_124258.jpg

Turns out the slats in the blue plastic sides are 5mm wide. Obviously this wasn't intended by the designers, but the weapons stay in place pretty well and I think it looks great. Also, since the slats are horizontal and there are a few slats at different levels, you have options for positioning weapons. The blue plastic is thin, though, so be careful, of course.
