Could it be natural lighting from the time of day?
Sunlight casts a natural light on the white and the artificial lights at night cast a warm yellowish light on it?
Very unlikely for the paint to be changing back and forth

I bought some of that RetroBright stuff thanks to this thread, and have been testing it on G2 Ramjet. He's almost completely pinned, so it's also a test of what happens to the "healthy" plastic.

    So far:
No visible change in the good plastic!
The light teal is really taking to the treatment. It's just taking a while because there are so many angles to expose.
The purple takes longer to show changes and appears to be coming out a lot lighter than pre-yellowing.

(not pictured: both legs and the cockpit section, also being treated)

As long as the teal cleans back up I'll be happy. I won't mind the lighter purple too much once it's all matching.

I already have Cyclonus as disassembled as he's gonna get, and will try him after I'm satisfied with Ramjet (and I'll take pics afterwards so I can compare them later to see if the yellowing returns)

Has Kingdom Primal ever been reported? His is hard to miss due to having very little of this plastic on him. Not horrible honestly

He’s definitely not one I recall seeing cited with any kind of frequency. Frankly, I don’t recall seeing mention before, but that’s just me. Nice catch either way!

Minor update, treatment is paused until I can grab a box of gloves (the latex gloves I was using were pretty old and they've all torn now).
I've decided to skip the purple and just finish up the blue. The purple is turning waaay too pale (stock pics show it matching the rest of the purple). I know it won't bond well, but I'm just gonna paint 'em.

It is interesting how different it turned out though. Guess all the chemical tomfoolery broke the pigment.

What do the insides of the arms look like now? Just curious how much it cleaned up inside, not that you would see it.

They're still green. I'm using a little uv flashlight and any angle that doesn't get direct light doesn't really react much.

    Wow, that contrast!

Hi guys, about the yellowing issue, I want to share some information.
That's problem was from the material. During the time making WFC, KD .... toy line, the lot of material have problem but they didn't know it.
After we complaint too much about this problem, Has/ Tak did a reseach and fix it.
So now, no need worry too much about the yellowing issue.
(Unless, the factory continue mix the old material)
    Enjoy your hobby guys ^^

He's clearly a factory worker who knew exactly what thread to go to to help us hobbyists. Mystery solved - thread locked.

And also just by chance joined the forum yesterday too? <_< The whole "(Unless, the factory continue mix the old material)" isn't too reassuring, but honestly I call b.s. on that whole post.

Yeah, while the overall number of figures affected by the rapid yellowing issue has gone down over time from the height during ER & Kingdom, we are still seeing the issue in current figures. If it was fixed that wouldn't happen, nor has Hasbro even ever directly addressed the issue.

There is clearly a component of the base plastic causing the issue (lack of UV stabilizers? Improper use of prohibited plastics? Cleaners used on molds/machinery? Who knows?), but I am not convinced of anything by a single new user saying, "Don't worry, it's been fixed. Unless of course it hasn't been fixed." *insert eye roll here*

I'll begin to be convinced it's fixed when we can get through a single damn year without anyone reporting the issue. Because we certainly won't get the info from Hasbro.

In all fairness to the new poster, has there been any uniform yellowing past Legacy Year 1? I haven’t followed closely in a while, but if Hasbro finally took notice/action, say around the end of Kingdom, it stands to reason that it’d take a while to implement the necessary changes.

The last uniform cases that I can remember were Bulkhead and Jhiaxus, but since then everything has been pretty sporadic. Obviously it still sucks and isn’t good, but it’s usually stuff that can be written off as a freak accident/one off where consistent reports are few and far between. Yellowing did exist prior to this fiasco in older toys based on environment, and it looks to have returned to that “norm”. It’s kinda why I’m inclined to believe their post.
