One of the armatures connecting the shoulder pylon to the torso has yellowed. Specifically, the one on the right of the photo. I've had the figure for a good few months now, and this is a new development for my copy.

I knew titans were safe since i never heard significant reports of yellowing from them, i just never got them due to them being to expensive for me, and i agree the cores are fun to mess around with larger figures.;)

I've had Legacy Lio Convoy since february and I don't believe he's discoloured in anyway yet , might consider getting back into the hobby with armada Megatron and Prime.

So why is my tigatron yellowing in a box? It’s not out in the sun so what’s the problem?

    SHORT VERSION:
    *big shrug* Who knows?

    LONG VERSION:
This current yellowing issue has nothing to do with normal yellowing (photodegredation) that all plastics will eventually succumb to. This new rapid-yellowing seems to be some unidentified chemical reaction happening with figures since midway through Earthrise even all the way through to some current figures. It seemingly has nothing to do with exposure to sunlight/light as there are examples of figures being stored away in total darkness that have yellowed. The yellowing parts seem to mostly be the "unpaintable" POM plastic HasTak uses for joints, hinges, etc., but other parts apparently made out of this same material will also yellow.

Frustratingly, there also doesn't seem to be any correlation between batch number/manufacture date and the issue. On top of that frustration, some people have the issue (generally on multiple figures) whereas some others simply don't.

I have one figure that's yellowing at all, SG Starscream. He was purchased secondhand (all my other possibly affected figures are fine and wet all bought by me firsthand), was mildly yellowed at the usual spots (joints, hinges, etc.) when I bought him, but has not progressed. My personal running theory is that there is some unknown bad element in the plastic formulations HasTak have been using since Earthrise that gives any and all figures the potential to yellow, but they only do yellow when exposed to some as-yet-unidentified environmental x factor that kicks it into gear. Otherwise we would see consistency among batch numbers, manufacturing dates, figures themselves, etc, and we just don't see that.

Slight yellowing, or just the lights?

The thighs on Tigatron are starting to yellow. Should we be worried about the Premium Finish Tigatron (the one with Blackarachnia) yellowing? Since it’s the same mold just repainted.

It's nothing to do with the mould, it's the plastic poured into it. The POM plastic used in places on Beast Wars Again Tigatron may yellow rapidly. Or slowly. Or not at all. Who knows? Until Hasbro and Takara are forced to sort it out by their bottom line, any toy they make could rapidly discolour...

Been a while since I popped in this thread. I know Tigatron is the most notable case, but any new suspects? Last ones I remember reading about were Bulkhead and Jhiaxus, though I did see the Toxitron a few pages back.

Is there any clear photographic evidence that Legacy Twincast is yellowing. I've scoured this thread but only found 2 "trust me bro" posts and that's about it.

Been sort of following this thread and discovered the latest victim of yellowing. SDCC CW Devastator. Specifically Long Hauls legs and feet that are used to connect Mixmaster and Scrapper.

That figure being almost 10 years old, I'd guess that's probably more of a "normal" plastic photodegredation (yellowing) situation that all plastics can be susceptible to than part of the current rapid-yellowing issue that started midway through Earthrise.

But regardless of why, it still sucks. :(

Truth be told it’s been yellowed for a few years. I noticed it when all this stuff started with WFC/Siege. Just didn’t post here. It was so striking to me I didn’t know if that’s how it always looked. Crazy, my standard CW Devy is fine
