Welp, my legacy bulkhead yellowed alongside my kingdom blaster. Even the eject inside of him yellowed to the point of leaking some weird fluid when you moved the joints. I think the cause is off gassing from other plastics because it’s only happened to figures I’ve had in storage, and even then they were wrapped in paper towels in the case of the box blaster was in. Gonna try the peroxide trick on bulkheads arms

Seemingly. My Optimus shows no signs of yellowing (don't have Starscream yet), and I've heard no reports of either having this problem.

I don't suppose you could post a picture of your sister's currently?

    Please note the purposeful apostrophe!

Yeah, I will later when I'm out of school.

I'm probably missing some obvious joke here, but purposeful apostrophe?

The apostrophe is to indicate possession. Your sister's "toy".

Without the apostrophe it would appear as if he's asking for pics of your sisters.

Oh, I see. I didn't take it that way at all but never hurts to take precautions.

So, it turns out her's has actually yellowed a little tiny bit since the last time I saw him (about a month or so ago). He's not as yellow as mine, but not as white as he was before. On camera though, they look literally identical. The closest I could get to it on camera was the thighs, but I don't know if you can even see that. 20231215_074108.jpg

Honestly pretty weird, but you'll just have to take my word for it that in person, her's is a little yellow and mine's is well on his way to yellowing. This is a bit of an older picture I took, where you can see it a little better. 20231104_195005.jpg

I have a question, i have been following this thread for a while and i want to know if modern figures that are susceptible to this yellowing issue become brittle/fragile overtime, or if the discoloration is purely cosmetic.

As far as I know we've not seen many, if any, examples of structural integrity issues due to the current rapid yellowing issue.

We have seen a couple of examples of figures where people had shaved off thin layers of the rapidly-yellowed plastic, and it seemed that the issue may be very surface-level and not going all the way through the plastic. Of course those were only a couple of examples of anecdotal evidence, but still fair to mention with the caveat that all of this information is definitely a HUGE maybe, kinda, possibly, sorta, but maybe not kind of deal.

So this predicament just causes widespread eyesores? dang, i skipped alot of figures because i was afraid they would break overtime, i wish this issue was behind us but here we are almost 4 years into this.:(

Well, these are all just theories with no real way to definitively figure it out as the customers, so all to be taken with a grain of salt. Unfortunately at this point no one knows if these figures will break like normal photodegraded/yellowed plastic often does.

But seriously big time agree that it's BS and absolutely should have been fixed by now. I don't even have the issue myself, but I feel for anyone who has spent good money on their collections only to have them go "rotten" while just standing on a shelf or even packed away in a dark closet.

Great so it's a "only time will tell" kind of situation,
i mainly stuck to buying core class, bw reissues, and occasional deluxe/voyager because of this. and it looks like it will stay that way until they ever fix this.

There’s examples of Core, Deluxe, and Voyager figures all suffering from this issue.

I am well aware and i try to avoid those specifically, the only known problem figure in my collection currently is core grimlock and it hasn't shown signs of yellowing yet.

Titans are safe, so far. It pretty fun to play with them together with the core class toys.
