That's entirely normal for a 25 year old figure. This thread is for figures released in the last three years with rapid discoloration

I wonder if the G1 Twin Twist that John Warden found buried in his garden was yellowed?

I don’t actually know how to link to a post, sorry - it’s in the ‘Show your most recent TF Purchase’ thread.

Found it. At least one of them. Kind of hard to see and it looks like two different tones of grey to me. My Scraphook has something like that (will post pics later tonight if needed)

I wasn't even sure where the "yellowing" was either? Like is the person thinking where the robot legs are attached to the torso with it being two slightly diff shades of grey is yellowing? That just looks to me like hasbro doing their typical trying to make diff parts all the same color but usually failed at it.

I’ve seen 2 SS86 Ironhides with two different shades of red plastic for the feet. Pretty sure it wasn’t due to yellowing, but it show made me realize that Hasbro might actually be making parts with different shades of plastic from time to time. Some package refreshes like Kingdom-legacy core class Soundwave actually has slightly different shades of plastic (and paint apps) even though it should be the exact same figure with in different packages. Not saying the Grimlock isn’t yellowing, but maybe they made the same parts with two different shades of grey that were mixed together when it was time for factory assembly hence what we see here.

I haven’t seen a core Grimlock in the flesh, so I’m just passing on reports I saw elsewhere on the forums for information.

Given who some of the reports are from I’m personally inclined to believe them,
but Gen Selects Artfire and SS core Ratchet are the only two instances of rapid yellowing/bleaching I have first-hand experience of.

Thats what I was thinking, and thats also the problem with people jumping the gun. We have figures like Sunstreaker, Iron Hyde, Sideswipe for example that are almost all cast in the "same" color. Though the reality is you have some parts that are plastic actually made in that color, and other parts where the color is a diff color plastic that had a diff color painted on after the fact. Take for instance Siege Ultra Magnus' silver gun he comes with is actually made in red plastic with the silver painted on after wards from what you can see on the inside of the hollow part of it that wasn't painted. In theory it may have been the same exact paint color used on all the parts, but being painted on, and actually casted in that same color don't always transition well. Than people see it and automatically think the toy is yellowing. As I've said many times before I'm not doubting that there is indeed an issue with some figures, but I'd say over half of them aren't "true" yellowing issues.

Exactly! This thread puts me on edge sometimes. I was looking at my Gen selects Galvatron and Wingfinger and thought “omg are these yellowing?!?” Honestly if you look at wingfinger it really looks like a bad case of yellowing. I’m hoping core Grimlock’s case is just mismatched grey plastics that the factory didn’t care to match instead of yellowing. Would be interesting if any US people with core Grimlock can confirm or deny if their copy/copies yellow (imagine if this was a UK specific issue lol). Also most out of box yellowing doesn’t seem to worsen over time? At least no one has reported it over here AFAIK. Anyways, here’s the photos of the off grey plastic on Scraphook if anyone cared (99.99% this isn’t yellowing). 47351AE9-29B4-4364-A1D4-4522BA50A64F.jpeg F28E894F-602B-47E8-8C6A-973EB0A2553A.jpeg

Yes and so far there's been less issues with deluxes so Mirage should be safe.

I mean the left hip is yellowing, but the rest looks fine. I’ve heard that can be one of the worse cases of yellowing too
