Well, at least we have a solution to the problem now- from here on all unpaintable plastic has to be yellow- it's up to the designers to try to hide it if necessary!

 

Oh boy... You would think after changing to crappy discoloring plastic, Hasbro would have saved millions alone in just that...

 

From what I have read on other threads (and it's hilarious) the only reason motormasters trailer "yellows" is due to antiseptic wipes being used on figures at the time, it's the reason why it only appears in certain spots as apposed to the whole trailer itself.

And to be fair of you look at pictures of the marks, it makes sense.

However how hard they must have been rubbing the fucking things is beyond me, it also explains why it isn't present on every copy.

I'm lucky that mine hasn't had the issue but yeah, it's not yellowing per say for motormaster, if it was he would have a rusted brown trailer and we would end up with a decaying looking Menasor

 

How's this Cyclonus look? Was thinking about buying it

 

Looks good to me, but it's also looking like any and all figures midway through Earthrise through to (maybe?) new, current figures have the potential to yellow, so YMMV w/ successfully avoiding the problem.

Right, but if there are additional environmental factors that initially compromise the figures (which I highly suspect according to the evidence), it may have not yet been exposed to whatever those factors may be. Right up until it's moved into a new environment. If you already have multiple figures that are yellowing, I'd caution against buying new copies of those known figures until the underlying issues are identified and corrected.

That one looks normal. Any shots of the front landing gear panel folded up? Also, does Cyclonus's butt match the crotch? Usually the butt piece will start to change from purple to grey. Just like the wing hinges, landing gear flap in front, and the shoulder tips.

 

Annnnnd my Jhiaxus is starting to yellow in spots. Look to the hips.

Ah well. Can't be pristine forever.

Probably because the number of affected units, while much higher than should ever be acceptable, is still a relatively low percentage of overall product manufactured so most buyers simply aren't affected. At least, that's what the current evidence suggests. And if they're not affected, why would they stop buying products?

 

This is one of the reasons i'm moving to 3rd party and Masterpiece, also the hollow gaps and waffle parts started to bother me in mainline

 

MFers have freon leaking from their A\C unit be like "Hnnngggh.... why me figures turn yellow... hrrrghhh...."

 

 

Got a pick of that? the hips are a darker white naturally, mine have been the same out of the box but hasn't yellowed at all

I don't think it's Freon cause otherwise none of my figure would be safe.

Still no yellowing until today (luckily).
