She would be great during those depressions between store resets, when it seems to take forever during restocks. Drive around for an hour, nothing new, may as well grab that Chromia. This is not that case, so much competition right now. In 10 years from now though, when I look at my fembot collection, I'm going to wish I bought her. She can be the female version of Kup since her joints just wont bend that way anymore. Misc pics You can see how she tforms by flipping her over And you can see where this is going to form her back Rather they have left the combiner piece & flip-up port on. Her knees & elbow articulation vs Moonracer's. Had to move Chromia's knee kibble back to do it. Prob 10-15% more bend MR's elbows. She's still decent, she just can't uber, so I wouldn't give her any swords.
I've gone back and forth on the is Chromia a retooled Moonrcer arguement in the run up to her release, concluding that they were different, but now we've got some decent pictures, I think there may be a set of parts in common: namely the hands, outer hips (the socket part) and the thighs. All look VERY similar in the above photos, all are the same colour on both toys (white on Moonracer, pale blue on Chromia) which lends them to being on the same parts tree/sprue. Similarly the wheels look the same too.
I almost wish they had included the combiner peg and hand/foot hole as an easter egg of sorts. I want my all-fembot Elita-Infinite, dammit. My lingering frustration with PotP was that they released multiple voyager figures that made up "half-finished" combiners because there weren't enough stylistically appropriate individual deluxe limb bots to accommodate every one of them. Starscream should've gotten 2 more seekers and Elita-1 two more fembots. Giving you the pieces to do this in this line would've been a nice mild concession to that (and yes, I know Greenlight is coming. it's just frustrating that she's once again the same body as Novastar/Moonracer with a new head and fresh paint job) It also makes me wish that maybe they had instead repurposed the Wreck-Gar/Groove combiner bike model so that there was a little more alt-mode diversity among the fembots. Or at least made one of Moonracer/Novastar/Chromia look more like that open-backed "pickup/cargo truck" alt mode we saw in The Search for Alpha Trion. Still, Chromia is probably #3 or #4 on my wave 2 anticipation list behind tetrajet Starscream and Soundwave (and debatably behind/ahead of Ironhide depending on my mood)
Can't say I ever cared about that poor PoTP Starscream as Not-Elita cosplay so I'm not upsed by the lack of redundant combiner parts but... Chromia's undies came off as soon as I've got her into my hands. You might want to have that part on a metal pin, Hasbro...
I passed her up a week or two ago (was looking for Ironhide) but yesterday I got her (was looking for Prowl, decided to get her anyway)......fun figure (though I just know I’m likely to lose the crotch plate, silencer/ scope and gremades
The Panty piece is terrible design. They came off faster than a..................nevermind. Let's just say, horrible design.
In my view she’s the weakest deluxe in the line so far by some distance, but the alt mode is solid enough to make her worthwhile.
Wow you know I've been hearing a lot of people call this thing really mediocre but I just picked this up and I'm pretty impressed this thing has forward and backward ankle tilt and it's got a really customizable gun and you can put a sight on the gun or you can extend a barrel or you can pretend you got grenades I mean that alone is actually pretty cool. Also, even though this is sort of a major retool of an existing mold, the backpack has been greatly reduced ( I have the original chromia I believe the original probably actually has a larger backpack than this gal. the breakage mentioned earlier and on above doesn't seem very likely because the gun doesn't sit in their super tight fits in there snug but the definitely not tight I would say it an errs too loose than it does to tight.
I just found one at wal-mart. I'm happy I have her to go with the PotP fembot team, but I'm disappointed that she's just the PotP mold with the combiner stuff removed. It exacerbates the whole issue of her being back-weighted because of the vehicle kibble.
