It's actually not. Well, maybe about Apeface's height. I'm glad he's made in the unified scale. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This guy is excellent, the absolute best voyager of the Siege line as far as I’m concerned and I include BaseMagnus and Shockwave in that equation. The milky white isn’t ideal but in hand he’s such a solid little brick of a figure and the transformation is a joy once you figure out the tabs.

Apeface gives me very high hopes for Snapdragon. In the meantime, Black Mamba if you want to upscale this guy and throw in some diecast and a less milky plastic I will happily double dip.

I'm saying that it's not just @Windsweeper II that prefers Apeface and other non-'84-'85 characters. I didn't miss your point, I completely ignored it to agree with someone else.

    So you DID miss it.

I know he's not alone; the point I was making was to agree with @Snake_eyes1975 after Windsweeper said snake_eyes was alone ("That's just you then") in his description of Apeface as not appealing to him (due to funkiness). The follow up messages pretty obviously bear this out. I was simply saying it's okay for people to dislike non-'84-'85 characters just as a very vocal crowd dislikes the '84-'85 gang. Just hypocritical to see it otherwise.

(In any case, I *do* like several of the post-'85 characters and will likely grab this guy)

For what it's worth, my own point was to agree with him, not to disagree with you. :<

Why yes. Obviously he's not alone. And obviously I am aware of that. But neither am I. And what he dissed out deserved a snarky comment imo when he did that dissing in the figure's review thread.
I mean, I get people not being okay with certain aspects of any figure. I'm not okay with certain aspects of Apeface myself. But if you just don't like the character and think you should go to the review thread of that character's only toy hello. I'm TR Apeface. post G1 that's a bit... Well, I can think of better mannered things to do.

Thank you for standing by me, @orangeitis :)

I also agree with Windsweeper II that Apeface seems awfully short compared to his Titans Return Voyager brethren.

My heart really goes out to fans of Astrotrain, though; for a Siege Voyager (yes, yes, I know he's a Leader. Which really only makes it worse...) to need boots just to reach the height of other Voyagers *in the same line* is pretty outrageous.

I just recently as of yesterday (B-day money yepi!!!!) ordered my copy (Apeface) from Amazon. Then bought the 2pack of the little guys named (Battle Patrol). I got the 2pack little guys for 2 reasons listed before.

    A. So I could get free shipping on my Apeface figure.
    B. So they could go on my Siege Omega Supreme as patrol of any decepticons or devy as you will.

I just solved a couple QC issues with ApeFace. Now he has a proper right and left toes and no more loose left knee.

Regarding the damn pearl white plastic complaints. Anyone here have beast wars figures from the late nineties? How about a beast machine basic? The white pearl plastic is the same quality of plastic as the old Beast era plastic back in the day. It was stronger, yet flexible as in non brittle. To me this was a welcome return. The one issue with this plastic is it does not hold paint very well which is why the paint job is so basic (just the purple on the chest).

As many have said this figure looks so much better in hand.

Here’s something that is NOWHERE in the instructions:

Yes, the shield actually snaps onto the canopy opening. It’s pretty solid. This explains the weird stylized hole on this part.

    327B9DDD-49D5-40B3-8283-07A51439DBF8.jpeg 883B3568-80DA-4728-8BDB-0851DF3629F4.jpeg 883B3568-80DA-4728-8BDB-0851DF3629F4.jpeg

I am definitely moding the peg and the peg hole of the shield.

I’d like to see repaints as Optimal Optimus and Primal Prime. And if Takara wants to go obscure, Rarigo; who came with Takara Weirdwolf.

Alright just got done with the shield attachment point mod:

First and most important point; DO NOT mod the shield’s post. Don’t sand, don’t cut. That part is perfectly fine.

What you will be modifiying is the port that the shield plugs into in jet mode. With a drill bit that is slightly bigger that the hole you will be shaving off just the upper part of the hole. DO NOT shave all the way down to the screw.

Once this is done (correctly) the shield will have a secure fit with the port in the gorilla and jet mode.
However the real feature of this mod is that you will be able to install the shield at the canopy door as shown in my last post. When you close it, the shield should still be attached and it’s post barely snug n the hole. Top open you will need to lower exhaust/ gorilla feet, so to get out of the way of the shield. If you press that shield closed you will lose the effect of opening the canopy with it. The shield will come out fine if pressed in. You will need to press the shield in in Gorilla mode, if you choose to store the shield back there.

As someone who also has a loose left knee on theirs, how did you fix it?

I ended up having to get another Apeface and the guns pegged into everything better and I had 0 issues. I still hate how the shield is made of questionably fragile clear plastic though. Not sure why they didn't just mold it the same plastic as the wings, but at least I can safely wiggle in and out of the pegs without ham handing it.

The shield is really not the problem. It’s that one hole that the shield plugs into in jet mode. Look at my fix for it in my earlier post.

    Mine was loose too.
Dripped some Future Floor Polish into the crevices of the knee joint; rock solid now.
