Just put these together since it was reported that Prime branches from WFC or something close to it. Feel free to discuss possible plot points and references that happen in the game into the story on earth, since it seems something movie like happens on earth and the Autobots need to hide themselves. It's probably going to end up that something similar happened to WFC, kinda like how its been lead into G1 but with inconsistencies.

Bear in mind the final designs still may change, as Prime had Smokestacks on his legs when we learned about him at botcon.

Prime seems to take cues from WFC with the shoulders, head, and what appear to be the rear wheels on his back. Overall I can see this Cybertron mode -> earthmode happening.

Ratchet really looks like they took direct inspiration from WFC. The wheels on the shoulder give it away. His head looks lifted from Animated, but still fits WFC.

Arcee goes through an mode change and a color change, but she never really had an Earth Altmode. I guess that "Chromia" that came with HA Mudflap was on to something. Anyway, the heads are different, but the basic body frame, notably the fins on her back, are a dead wringer for one another. She also is quite tall in WFC, so who knows her scale in Prime.

This one is a bit iffy. We know that WFC BB and Cliff share a chassis, but Cliff seems to look more like the WFC body than Bee. Bee takes his looks obviously from the movies, but the head is vastly different and the wings are new. Still, both have large arm guards.

Megs has some similarities, but he goes through an entire body type change it seems and a new alt mode since he doesn't do earth modes. The arm cannon is on the other hand too.

I personally think that War for Cybertron/Exodus is supposed to be a reimagining of Generation 1 despite inconstinces and that Prime is it's own thing. Peter Cullen even said so himself that he doesn't think Prime and WfC are connected.

Hate to say it, but WFC looks better all the way.

Ratchet being the only exception here.

WFC Arcee in particular is so much more what I like to see. Absolutely no contest there.

Ratchet looks a lot like his WFC self. Especially the arms and overall shape of the body. I dig it.

Cullen's exact words were that he doesn't think it's wfc continuity, but it could still be, just he hasn't had any lines that suggest that yet.

He never outright said it was, or wasn't. Just nothing to him has been shown that it absolutely is yet.

Yeah, I don't see it. What I see is just an amalgamation of movie design elements done in the Animated style. Ratchet being the sole exception in which it looks like more was taken from his Animated styling, which considering his popularity from Animated was a pretty smart move.

So far we only have the word of the officials that WFC is a prequel to both G1 and PRIME.

All that was said is that "something happens". Well, time will tell.

I'm hoping WFC is not a prequel to Prime. Because if it is, whenever they do flashbacks to Cybertron they're going to have to show the WFC designs and I don't think that they fit very well with the style of Prime.

They're saying Prime ties into WFC because it allows it to ride on the momentum of that game/toys. I bet during the show nothing from WFC will be mentioned, except maybe some key points in the story that they might have used anyway.

Hasbro also said Exodus was a WFC book, while it's actually a mishmash of all the different continuities (WFC/Movie/IDW Megatron Origin/etc).

Although the designs have *some* WFC, it's appearant tying it to that game is mostly an afterthought, or at least something that was requested far into the process.

Not entirely sure I'm seeing the WfC->Prime flowthrough, with the exception of Ratchet's body shape; I'll have to give it a whirl just to see where things go. Of course, it could be infinitely more insane, especially once Takara-Tomy try to shoehorn the whole thing into the G1 timeline...

I see where you're coming from here, but overall it's pretty easy to grab (almost) any two instances of the same character and pick out details to say how one led to the other.

Personally, I look at TF: Prime Megatron, and I mostly see a mildly updated/improved version of TF:A Megatron's Cybertronian form.

(and I wanna know where Arcee is hiding her wheels)

Overall the changes are less drastic than BM, though in there it was explained as the work of the Oracle. I guess Optimus just stopped taking steroids.

There are some similarities, but the designs are too different.

    total dissappointment for me!

in Seibertron. they are all supposed to have G1-esque designs. but when he reaches the Earth, They turned out to be another Michael Bay's thing!

OK Hasbro. TF: Primes is not supposed to be Gee One but it is brand new continuity but... this earth design is just NO GO!

did Hasbro try to prevent Takara to Japonize TF metaverses? (Optimus Prime -> Convoy, Bumblebee -> Bumble, Sideswipe -> Rambol etc.)

    ONORE!!!!

(Alternity is another toyline influenced by Bay-verse yet everyone is still Japonized :p  )

If there's going to be a TFP video game, let High Moon handle it.
