20210322_125208.jpg Well nothing is much different on this vs color paint and lack of some in places. The same neck hasn't been changed . This version of the mold feels tighter . I can see how some who bought and liked the Kingdom might either be mad , like it, or not even care. I personally like the first version but also like this version as well. The first Cheetor got a lot flack out the gate and I expect the same for this .This like the Kingdom one is a very good toy. Killer beast mode and nice new paint job. One is needed if your into beast wars in Kingdom and you can pick your preference . Orange or Yellow

My original Kingdom one hasn't broken yet, while my Netflix one broke the first time I transformed it :lol

Yeah, my Kingdom one snapped on my first transformation. Not completely off, but I heard a click and it's barely hanging on with a crack on it.

I'd be all in the NF version if the lower legs had the blue paint of the regular version. Since it doesn't, it saves me a ton of headache.

I'm glad I waited. The plain legs are a shame, but the base colours are so much better. What were they thinking with the first release? (Hopefully something other than how to get some reluctant double dips)

I have a Netflix one and it can still break. Seems like there was supposed to be a ridge sculpted in the neck plate for the tab to slot into or slide through, but it’s not there.

I’ve avoided breaking the tab by slightly pulling up on the neck plate to get the tab underneath. However I’m not sure if this will stress other parts. Ultimately the tab might not be needed for functionality(as in if it breaks, it won’t really affect transformation), seems like an abandoned part actually.

I do hope someone figures out a paint mixture to recreate the metallic blue or ToyHax make some stickers so the shins and axe head can get some blue. The base colors are great (and in hand I much prefer them to Kingdom Cheetor's) but the missing paint apps are disappointing.

Bummer about them not having a fix for the neck tab. I actually am okay with the missing paint apps on the legs. It looks better to me in cheetah mode, and in robot mode I found the blue drew the eye towards the oversized nature of the legs, whereas in this case they seem visually slimmer to me.

I used a metallic blue Gundam Marker on the backside of the hind cheetah legs. Pretty happy with the result. I decided not to paint the larger area of the lower legs like the retail version. The match is certainly not perfect and in fact looks better in this photo than in real life, but I'm pleased.

Nice work, does the color match well? I'm tempted to try this myself.

91588A66-36D6-4B52-BDFE-B891E3DC7F7E.jpeg I just found this guy today along with the other deluxes. I left the others and just snagged Cheetor. While I'm old enough to have been a fan of G1 in its earliest days, there is something special about Beast Wars stuff that just wins the contents of my wallet every time.

Agreed 100% and I bet that the benefit of the improved cheetah mode is what the designers had in mind.

What do you mean "what were they thinking"? Cheetor's been yellow more than he's been orange.

How the fuck was this not the actual Kingdom Cheetor.

I knew the blue was going to be better, but the yellow is so much nicer. It's weirdly metallic, but the Kingdom release looks like a KO compared to it. The lighter undercoat especially is so, so much better. Makes the Kingdom version's looked globbed on.

And yet they didn't paint the legs. How has this toy been so screwed in such a short period of time?

I don't remember Cheetor being pale, sickly cheap yellow.

Thanks! Like I said above, it is definitely not a perfect match. I'd think of it like this: the blues match better than ER Sunstreaker's yellows, but it's still quite apparent.

The specific marker I used was GM153, from the first Metallic Gundam Marker set. You can't buy that marker by itself. The single release metallic blue is GM17, which seems to be a brighter blue.

I guess I’m in the minority of actually liking the baby blue on Kingdom Cheetor. Yeah it’s not show accurate, but I think it looks nice as it’s own thing.

That said, I like the deco on this Netflix release a lot too. And since my Kingdom Cheetor had breakage issues that’s the perfect incentive to pick this version up :///

If that were true, you'd think they'd have used the money saved cutting the leg and axe paint apps to add the missing spots to his legs. That they didn't suggests this was entirely about saving $$$.

I like the Kingdom blue, but the yellow has a noticeable green tint that kills it in person. :/

I think the tab will probably end up breaking on most copies of this mold. There’s barely enough clearance to clear it during transformation and no gap to tab into or go through. That’s why I think it’s an abandoned aspect of the design, budget probably got cut before it could be refined.

While it does suck to get any breakage, luckily breaking that tab won’t really affect transformation(nor holding the head in place in cheetah mode).
