    You know what?

The ankles don't have to be a trick after all!

I took the skull off the guitar and the other out of Optimus Primal's hand and used them to connect the pairs of ankles together.

    20210328_110718.jpg

    Now they're rock solid!

Thanks, @GAUGE, you're helping me make improvements now. :)

About time the Maxies got some of their own! The old BW line usually gave both sides the same gimmick; it was really weird that the Preds were the only ones getting the fossilizing fun.

On topic-ish, Paleotrex's legs have pegs that slot right into Ractonite's sides.

Here's my contribution, it's not as crazy as what others have made, but I like it:

It's made from 3 Paleotrex, and uses all the parts.

I love how crazier the creations become with more Paleotrex's to work with.

I changed the tail top. It was a bit weighed down. Cool concept though.

Ok, this figure is right out of an 80's heavy metal Iron Maiden type video. The skull head is all kinds of awesome.

Almost 4 months ago I decided to try the fossilizers & got 1 each of Kingdom Paleotrex & Wingfinger when they were $19 & $14 respectively on Amazon. Since then my opinion of Paleotrex has slowly shifted from "ok", to "terrible", to "terrible and Wingfinger's better", to "fossilizing is kinda cool", & finally to "Paleotrex is awesome thanks to Siege Brunt"! Basically, get Paleotrex if you have Brunt. But before I get to the most awesome partsforming duo ever I must finally review Paleotrex himself. There's a lot to cover so I abridged the full size pictures throughout the review. A full gallery with thumbnails of all my pics is at the end.

Anatomically inaccurate bones aside, P-Rex is an awesome looking T-Rex skeleton with lots of brown paint seemlessly blending the beige & brown plastic, & tan paint bringing out details like the teeth, head sockets & ribs. He has a fair amount of joints like 90 degree jaw, ball joint arms, hinged tail, and unhindered universal hips & hinged knees, ankles, & toes. Unfortunately, his far-too-loose knees literally bring the beast down hard & many attempts to pose it usually end up like this:
    IMG_0530.JPG
Alt mode comparison with Kingdom Beast Megatron, Rhinox, Airazor & Rattrap, Earthrise Smokescreen, & Beast Wars Reissue Tigatron.
    IMG_0532.JPG
Bone-bot is mostly arms with somewhat loose weapon storage behind the shoulder. Again, joint variety is great but his lower limbs are the weak link as his feet are small and the heel spurs can bend a bit further back than they should, making posing a troublesome balancing act. Joint & peg/hole tolerances are great other than the aformentioned loose hinges(somewhat better as elbows) & somewhat loose side locking points on the shins. Not as bad as other partsformers but still not perfect. More on other tolerances when fossilizing is covered further down.
    IMG_0538.JPG
He does have decent options for rearanging body parts. Serious question: can anyone on here find out what parts of him would make more stable feet?
    IMG_0655.JPG
An appropriate creepiness is the best thing about him. I always have his skull-faced battle mask flipped down. With how long his arms are, he creeps, crawls & crouches way better than posing like other action figures.
    IMG_0540.JPG
And posing him like that, especially on all fours, makes him more & more disturbing.>:)
    IMG_0542.JPG
His head is on a long peg so extending it is possible. Eek.
    IMG_0549.JPG
Also, apparently Paleotrex is totally Beast Megatron's targetmaster:

Megatron holds P.Rex very well since pegholes & other parts rest on top of Megs' claw, & Megs' joints, mainly in the arms, are strong enough to hold it up! Made a few aesthetic tweaks myself. I don't think Paleotrex's head likes it though, lol.
Robot comparison with previously mentioned, plus Kingdom Wingfinger.
By himself, Paleotrex is an exceptional creepy crawler who otherwise suffers greatly as an action figure and as a T-Rex. His legs in both modes bummed me out on him & his alt mode is sadly not worthy in my book. So to me he's not worthy on his own. Fortunately this is only part of the experience. Read on for fossilization!
    IMG_0599.JPG
Most of Paleotrex's bones were totally meant to be weapons & armor. Only the legs and ribs are somewhat weird. Loose or slightly loose tolerances on my copy are:
the hole in the pelvic blade,
the hole where P-Rex's robot neck pegs,
the knee hinges in the dino shins,
the mushroom peg swivels in the ankles, and
the holes in the dino feet.
All other tolerances are either snug or perfect. I used every piece in the following pics. Upfront, as demonstrated above, I'm not very good at making my own creations & more adept at tweaking existing works. Original creators will be credited.
My 'Prime' fossilizing subjects were WFC Trilogy Netflix Nemesis (same mold as Siege Optimus), & Earthrise Optimus. They work as well as expected & the Primes & Fossilizers both make good matches for each other. Most other WFC vehicle-formers have the same peghole locations as Er OP. Surprised I haven't seen more of Nemy & P-Rex; they look great!
    IMG_0658.JPG

    IMG_0666.JPG
Next is my take on a fossilizer combiner of Paleotrex & Wingfinger. Inspiration comes from this:

A lot of this madlad's builds are sadly more compromised in articulation & stability than I'd like, but tweaking that combo makes this one that mostly doesn't have those faults. Best part of the OG design is Wingfinger's forearms making much better feet than Paleotrex's.
    IMG_0623.JPG
The limbs on mine can also be rotated around so Wingfinger's head & body can be in front instead.
    IMG_0621.JPG
Finally, thanks to slightly modifying two rocking designs by @Napalm earlier in this threadWFC Kingdom WFC-K7 Paleotrex Fossilizer deluxe I fell in love with them! First, a solid fully posable quadroped with just the right shape for Wingfinger to ride.
    This is the Bruntosaur!
    IMG_0639.JPG

    IMG_0673.JPG
Next, all Paleotrex needed to be a great action figure was a pair of legs & feet, & Brunt delivers that & even more, combining to form
    the B-600 Rex!
    IMG_0646.JPG

    IMG_0653.JPG
Here he is in Zetar flavor. Serious question: how would Transmutate/Spindle & Zetar look combined like this?
    IMG_0674.JPG

    IMG_0654.JPG
Phew! If that isn't a way to either end off the Paleotrex thread with a bang, or explode it back to life, I don't know what is. I'm so glad I found more ways to like Paleotrex than I previously thought possible, & I hope this inspires others the way Grim's Transformers Reviews, Bot Bender Orinj, & especially @Napalm & others on this site have inspired me.
Here's the gallery, with even more pics for every part of the review:
    IMG_0529.JPG IMG_0530.JPG IMG_0532.JPG IMG_0533.JPG IMG_0534.JPG IMG_0535.JPG IMG_0538.JPG IMG_0544.JPG IMG_0655.JPG IMG_0539.JPG IMG_0540.JPG IMG_0541.JPG IMG_0542.JPG IMG_0543.JPG IMG_0546.JPG IMG_0549.JPG IMG_0267.JPG IMG_0599.JPG IMG_0625.JPG IMG_0658.JPG IMG_0660.JPG IMG_0663.JPG IMG_0666.JPG IMG_0667.JPG IMG_0668.JPG IMG_0669.JPG IMG_0620.JPG IMG_0623.JPG IMG_0622.JPG IMG_0621.JPG IMG_0635.JPG IMG_0636.JPG IMG_0637.JPG IMG_0639.JPG IMG_0640.JPG IMG_0673.JPG IMG_0643.JPG IMG_0645.JPG IMG_0646.JPG IMG_0647.JPG IMG_0649.JPG IMG_0653.JPG IMG_0674.JPG IMG_0654.JPG
