Am glad to finally get a proper Huffer even with some questionable design choices.

Rather he have double jointed elbows than the wierd plastic claw piece that no one asked for ever.
Also dont get the splitting gun to make a truck bed.
It’s like they had one job...

Otherwise he’s still pretty cool and he’s the best purely G1 styled Huffer we ever got.

    Holy bad design choices Batman!

What on Earth is up with this truck?! It’s full on banana mode. I’ve tried moving the arms and cab piece in all of the ways I can fathom but it still looks like the front cab is trying to do a wheelie and the back end is sat going “nope”.
It doesn’t look like it’s a case of tolerances being off, it really looks like a case of “the designer put the tabs in the wrong place” or forgot a hinge or something. On one hand it’s super annoying. On the other... I kinda love it? It’s so stupid I can’t help but feel enamoured with it

He matches pretty well with Airwave & Fastrack.

Kinda kicking myself now for not snagging a Big Convoy yet.

    Huffer is great!

Like how Jazz is just standing there, staring at Huffer lifting a mammoth (not recognizing the Big Convoy repaint).

This is the only figure from Kingdom wave 2 I have NOT found, and it's driving me crazy. I really hope he starts showing up either in stores around me or online stores in abundance soon.

Is the gun peg really loose in both hands?? Trying to figure out if it’s every copy or I just got a crap copy. :(

I love this guy. Only issues I have are the fists in alt mode and wheels sometimes pop off when doing arm transformation.

That’s how I felt until I found 1 at my local Walmart.
I like him overall. Had they positioned the cab a little higher so as not to compromise the shoulder joint, it’d me much better. I’ve seen the alternative here, but it looks too high. Also, wheels wells would make it look better. It’s unfortunate that orange plastic looks cheap. It’s the same with Grapple, where Inferno looks much better.

Have you experimented with that joint? I agree that the all the way up is too high, but there's more than just all the way up and all the way down that double-joint supports. Even the instructions seem to have it part-way if you look at where things align in the drawings. Pulled straight back, or 3/4 up might be more to your liking and allows for full shoulder clearance.

I'm not sure if you meant Jazz doesn't recognize the mammoth, or if you don't. But just in case, and for anyone else, it is Universe Nemesis Prime.

This. There is a solid detente at the halfway that seems about perfect.

Fun little figure! He looks pretty tough in bot mode and his truck mode scales better with Prime’s trailer than Prime does...lol... The transformation is a little fiddly and the gun handle is floppy loose in his hands, but overall I really like him. I gave my CW Huffer to my wife a while back (I told her Huffer likes to complain...just like her...haha), so it’s nice to have a Huffer back in my possession. And, I have his gun pegged onto his forearm...fits nice and snug there. I don’t think I’ll ever need another Huffer now.

Son decided he finally wanted Huffer after seeing the Go Better kit, which fixes the major gap problems without still leaving big leg gaps like the Tim Heada kit.

Picked up the figure at a local comics shop.

The split blaster for alt mode is truly awful. I don't mind the claw shield sitting on the back but the split blaster interior molding is just garbage.

The leveling is indeed off with this mold in alt mode. For the legs in alt mode, shaving or breaking off the small locking tabs that go into his butt is not going to fix it. If you only transform one leg, you'll see how it perfectly sits against the butt area when plugged in.

Even then, the legs will still go up at a slight angle towards the back. There appears to be an issue with the waist assembly that's angling it a little bit up.

The cab not pegging in all the way makes it look worse. After opening the torso, there's this tab near the base of the head. The tolerances are obviously off and doesn't want to plug in all the way. It pushes itself out a little bit, which is enough to throw off the cab.

I can try to look into it more in depth later and see if there are non or minimally destructive fixes.

Otherwise, the easiest thing to do is to introduce another offset to make the other offsets not look as bad: just don't plug the locking tabs into his butt.

Aaaaand this is why I'm buying less and less official Hasbro. The prices keep going up and I still have to fix their figures. I got Huffer and, well, I WANT to like him. But I'm tired of having to file and sand and shave bits to make things work. Not to sound like an old man, but there was a time when they made insanely complex figures that worked right out of the box. RID Sideburn, Alternators Smokescreen, Cybertron Prime. I've been in this hobby since the 90s, and while they're giving us what we want in terms of characters and look, I have been shocked at the increasing droppoff in engineering precision and QC. Right now I'm trying to decide between Kingdom Tracks or Mechanic Studios Flywheels. And while the later is $10 more, I'm less worried about having to "fix" things or the possibility it'll break through normal use (like Kingdom Beast Wars Megatron, for example, which I pulled from my pre-orders cart after so many people had issues. My god, it's a $50 figure. It shouldn't snap apart like a KO). Plus the fact that prior to THIS year it would have been $15 more than the Hasbro offering, but Hasbro keeps closing that gap between official and 3P price, without increasingly the build quality to match.

And yeah, not a fan of Huffer's accessories. I squeezed them too hard to make sure they were pegged together in truck mode, and they flew apart. One of them actually managed to scratch the bottom bezel of my TV upon impact. Super fun.

Ok, after doing more of a deep dive...there's too many misalignments to fix. The waist peg is also off and ever so slightly angled. The arms / exhaust pipe assemblies are also off...and the main cause for the cab not being aligned. It pushes the cab and prevents the center tab near the head from seating correctly.

So, yeah, the "wrong" fix of untabbing the legs from the butt is best overall option.

Picked up Huffer this evening as a bit of an impulse buy. He's a good little figure! Robot and vehicle modes are both pretty satisfying, and the transformation is enjoyable enough, if a bit simple. He's nothing special, but he's a fun little robot for flipping back and forth between modes

Picked up this figure a few days ago at Walmart, pretty damn good, only real issue is the legs are confusing getting into alt mode, as they don’t sit straight.
