The core class is now available at some places and here we have Rattrap. The core class is small being a little smaller then the old legends class. This has a lot going on in such a small toy. The feet are really odd (back of Rat or feet of bot)and goofy to me. Rat mode is more realistic rat then toon . Bot mode is awesome for its size with excellent pose ability! This is Rattrap all the way down to his blaster. Its got lots of character. Not to sure how many more of the core class I will get but this one is a good one.

This guy looks pretty neat. Do you have any Legends bots from Power of the Primes for a comparison picture?

Reminds me of how small Slash/Cindersaur turned out compared to other Prime Wars legends.

This might be my most anticipated figure in the entirety of Kingdom, Rattrap looks fantastic here.

Got this guy today and he is generally quite excellent.

feels super solid plastic wise and he looks incredibly good.

I do have a complaint though, the second ball joint in the knees and shoulder transformation joint are way too annoying. Both sets of joints really should have tabbed in place for robot mode. They're only going to get worse with age as well.
I’m gonna load those particular joints up with floor polish so maybe it’ll turn out ok for a little while.

Edit: I hate the orientation of the ballpoint in the shoulder. It works fine and you can get good poses, but it’s annoying as hell. It’s similar to the old hasbro marvel legends hips in that the orientation is really counterintuitive.

I'll have to have Cheetor in hand to determine if I like the size or not within a collection, but as a little figure Rattrap's pretty fun. The conversion is neat up until the last couple of steps where you have to fit the bot arms and legs just right in the shell for everything to fit together, and the tabs aren't perfect here. Also not sure if I'm a fan of using the rat feet as the bot feet. The color looks odd in bot mode and those back feet are absolutely monstrous looking in rat mode.

Ideally Cheetor ends up taller than the 2014 figure, which means that would be the Rattrap on my BW shelf, but based on what we've seen so far it seems unlikely.

Cheetor is taller! Its a very small difference though, and I don't like how 2014 Rattrap's shoulders are higher than Cheetor's. I'm still sticking with the old Rattrap just because he is about the right "mass" to me, whereas the new Rattrap looks wayyy to small. Still, this new one one nails the sculpt better in my opinion, hopefully some KO comes out at the right size.

Seems like with the Kingdom one they're going for beast mode scale rather than robot mode.

Keeping the Gen deluxe one as the main Rattrap in my display for now, though i might grab the new one if it ever goes on sale.

Hate me if you want but, I think the new one is lightyears better than the T30 one, which never looked right to me.

    Seconded.
The Deluxe is decent, but so limited in articulation and way too fiddly to be enjoyable.

Got him from Amazon (quite the surprise).

As a change, I'm going to go from bad to good: I really would've liked a peg into slot mechanic on the folding panel that the ball joint shoulder is on to tab into the ratpack to lock the shoulders into place for robot mode. The straight hinge that is held only by friction to keep the arms in place is one of my design pet peeves (Major parts that don't lock in anywhere for a mode is IMHO one of the biggest engineering sins a Transformers engineering can have). Stuff like that should be locked in for a variety of reasons.

He's smaller than I was expecting and he doesn't have 5mm hands. I know, at that size it would be ridiculous if he had compatible hands, it's just that I'm such a fan of the universal system that when a figure doesn't adhere, it bothers me. I was expecting him to be about a head taller.

Love the transformation, love the articulation, love the details on such a small figure. Overall, I'm glad I have him and he's the first modern Rattrap I've gotten, so I'm pleased.

Got mine and discovered a misassembly that affects every Rattrap

Feet should be swapped to put heels closer to each other in rat mode etc. Since the feet seem tight I swapped at the lower knee joint as the shins are symmetrical and now the rat feet look right and it matches instructions.

Also they should have really stored the gun under rat mode there’s plenty of space. The peg that holds gun on his robot mode back isn’t that necessary
