    Update 2020/04/13:
I've decided to move my STL file downloads to cults3d.com. Until now I was only putting a small upcharge on my Shapeways sales, while 3D printer owners were able get the files free from Thingiverse and make their own parts very cheaply. Selling the files for a small price makes things more equal for everyone, and I'll be able to slightly lower the prices on Shapeways for some items.

All styles of the wings are now included in one download:

    Update 2020/03/10
Transforming wings are now available to purchase from Shapeways. You can choose between the one-piece design, or the two-piece design which requires purchasing the inner and outer pieces separately.

    Original Post
These still need a few rounds of revisions but I thought I'd share my first draft. These are for robot mode only (partsforming), just pop off the stock wings and plug these in. I used photos of the Masterpiece figure as reference for the shape and details.

I want to move them in closer together and make them a bit smaller. They're currently one-sided, but I'd like to add the details for the back side too. I also want to look at ways I could possibly store the original alt mode wings in robot mode, and these new wings in alt mode.

Feedback welcomed! Once I consider these "final", I'll put them on Thingiverse and Shapeways.

I don't own the figure yet (stupid local Target), but is there no room in alt mode to keep these on and avoid the parts-forming?

This looks so much better! The small wings was my main issue with this figure, and you’ve fixed it

id assume longer wings would need to be hinged to fold up (or lay one on top of the other), the stock wings are the vehicle mode spoiler split in half

Ooooh! These look awesome! I don't quite know how you'd move them in closer, but I know once these are finished I'll definitely pick up a set! Maybe 2! ((I was considering attempting an Exhaust custom ;)

What about making them so that they overlap each other that way all you have to do is rotate one underneath the other and that way you'll have one continuous wing in all mode

As @tigatron2002 said, those wings swivel in towards each other to form the rear spoiler in car mode. That's why the stock wings are so short and also why they're rectangular and not tapered.

I'm going to look into ways to make it less partsform-y, but it will be hard to do without compromising the look, which is what I'm most concerned with. (I know a lot of fans want everything to convert with no partsforming, but I tend to just go with whatever gives me the nicest-looking bot mode for my display. Personal preference.) Generations Wheeljack has those multi-part folding wings, but they always seemed kind of clunky and ungraceful to me. But like I said, I will investigate to see if there's a way to do it, and at least figure out some kind of storage.

I can move around the 5mm post, which will change the wings' position on the figure. Also, there's an Exhaust figure rumored to be coming later in the line FYI.

That's a pretty good idea! I can envision how things would be offset to fit together nicely in car mode. I could print in two colors to get white for the back sides of the wings that show in car mode. The major snag I see with that plan is that I want the wings to taper, and if they formed the car mode spoiler it would be a weird shape instead of a nice rectangle. I'll have to think more about this option...

Who knows, maybe I'll develop a partsforming version that doesn't compromise on aesthetics, and transforming version that can stay on in both modes but doesn't look as pretty.

    Love it! You fixed WJ.

NOT fussed about partsforming aspect, there are plenty of 5 mm holes and I can forgive a lot in the name of unofficial parts making things better. Can't wait to print and paint a pair (probably before i even get him)

You can do a bit of greebling on the back side with no supports as long as there's a perimeter that touches your build plate.

Yep, I still need to draw the design for that side but I'm hopeful that the printer will be able to just bridge those bits since most of it is just narrow lines.

Did a few more iterations the last couple days and I think I'm happy with the overall profile now. These are a little smaller than before, and moved in towards the center a bit. Here are a couple pics of where I'm at:

    IMG_0580.jpg IMG_0581.jpg IMG_0582.jpg

I didn't take pics, but these also store in alt mode fairly well. If they're pegged into his hands in alt mode, there's barrrrrrrely enough clearance under the car for them. They can also be oriented to stick out the sides to form little wings, Tracks-style.

This weekend I should have time to tighten up the front design a bit, do the back design, and have these finalized and ready to share. Then on to the transforming version!

What I can appreciate is that we don’t have to jury rigg these on in some way, unlike the previous Wheeljack
