Wow. Wow wow wow. This is the first figure I wanted from Earthrise. I absolutely love Wheeljack on the basis of his alt mode...the legendary Lancia Stratos Turbo rally car. This figure is pretty awesome. Simple right to the point of being Wheeljack. It isn't exactly a Stratos, but it's very close. Alt mode is...great. Few seams and it's painted really well. Lots of fake sponsor logos which I adore. Robot mode is really reminiscent of the Masterpiece figure. I don't have the MP one with me right now, but I'll get comparisons of it when I get around to unboxing it from storage. It's leagues better than the Generations one. That one wasn't bad but this..this is the Wheeljack I wanted. The missle launcher can plug into either shoulder, and it can be used as a hand weapon.

Articulation is pretty fantastic. It's pretty much standard for WFC stuff which is great. Absolutely a worthwhile figure to have. Knees are a tad loose but for me that isn't that big of a deal.

I want Slicer and Lightspeed.

 

It definitively looks like the car mode is meant to be somewhere between Wheeljacks' and Sunstreakers. It has the curves of WJ, but is long and flat like SS.

 

WJ would be perfect if he came with an extra gun, and had flaps that covered the insides of his calves.

Personally? I say get rid of your debate, just get it. As far as being a total G1 Wheeljack without being Masterpiece, this is it. The alt mode is a hell of a lot closer to the Stratos than the Generations one, and it even looks nicer in robot mode.

Unfortunately I don't have that anymore. I got rid of my Generations one in anticipation of this one. Only "perfection" exists in my collection...
