Found this guy at Target today and decided to get him (along with Cliffjumper) as a self-imposed birthday gift! 20200206_154824.jpg 20200206_154935.jpg First of all, this is THE best Starscream that Hasbro has offered us. 20200206_155022.jpg Right from the package, his joints are tight and his colors really pop! My photos do it no justice. 20200206_155028.jpg 20200206_155117.jpg The blues are perfect and the red is glossy! I can't say enough about how good this toy feels in hand. 20200206_155136.jpg 20200206_155225.jpg Transformation is intuitive, especially how the arms fold into the body of the plane and my only negative (barely a negative) is that one of the wings pops off way too easy at times during transformation. 20200206_155742.jpg 20200206_160004.jpg The jet mode is also beautiful. It lacks some details (wasn't his nosecone blue?). But all in all, it looks like a jet, and not a robot hidden underneath it. 20200206_160006.jpg 20200206_160011.jpg 20200206_160014.jpg 20200206_160036.jpg

What an exceptional step-up from the last Voyager Starscream from PotP!

Kind of surprised that the jet doesn't have 5mm ports for effect pieces.

Thanks, I was waiting for this one! My only nitpick is I'd wish the tailfins attached to his legs instead of the feet, but it's not that bad.

Nosecone was white in the cartoon, I think.

Yup. I noticed that as well. It would have been great especially for the jet exhausts.

So am I thinking of the original toy then? I think it would have been nice in terms of breaking up a lot of that pale grey.

Thank you so very much! As you can see, I am self-celebrating with some new figs!

Is he the same height as Siege Screamer?

Yeah, the original toy had the blue nosecone.

It was probably an aesthetic thing. For some reason, they had his toes transform into the afterburners, instead of having the usual jet-engine heel. If he had 5mm ports there, then they'd be staring right at you in robot mode, looking kinda silly.

Happy birthday to you! As much as I would love to pick up this mold, I will have to stay with the Siege Seekers. I personally love them way more. Thank you for the review!

Thanks for the review! This is the guy I'm looking forward to the most. Finally a good, Voyager-class, Earth-mode Starscream.
May not be as articulated as Siege, but ER blows that one out of the park on an aesthetic level. He just looks so good. Definitely bought on sight!

Don’t think I’ll ever dig the proportions on this guy. The chest/torso piece I find especially not great looking.

Is this a new head sculpt than Siege Starscream?

I just wish they could have done it like the (vastly superior) Siege Starscream where the burners were between the foot parts.
As it stands, I just don't see this as a better option than the Siege one, but will definitely be interested if they do the Coneheads out of this one.

The feet/engine nozzles look like thrust vectoring nozzles now so in a way, if you like F-15's, that can be seen as an improvement. The F-15 ACTIVE had 2D thrust vectoring nozzles like that.

I wish I could answer that, but I never picked up Seige 'Scream. I wanted to, but when I saw that this was coming out...well...

I really hope Thundercracker and Skywarp will be general releases and not some sort of exclusives....but I'm sure they will. For some reason Skywarp always ends up being the 'Exclusive' or the 'Elusive'. LOL

I'm not sure, as I don't have the Seige mold. But also, in hand, everything looks better than what you see in pics. His proportions aren't terrible.

Great! I held off on the siege one as it didn’t seem starscreamy enough for n (the face, the blockiness and the shellforminess to get to the alt mode). And before that the potp one looked pretty bad. but this guy has most certainly piqued my interest!

I know we just got all 3 Seekers in the last series of figures, but I gotta say: I will feel ripped off if we don't get the rest of the trio. I want an earthmode Thundercracker and Skywarp much more than Starscream, and being that this is just the deluxe from 15 years ago, it really could have been better.

I will be shocked if we dont get the trio in Earthrise. But I'm sure either Skywarp or Thundercracker will be some kind of exclusive.

I think the only instance where we got all 3, was with the Combiner wars Leader class versions.
