Mine is the same way, but only on the left side. But for me it gives it more authentic battle damage lol

Is the chest pegging issue right out of the box or after a transformation?

Some people have noticed it on theirs. Ours is fine.

If someone does have it, can you take a picture of the back hinge and the front chest area opened up? Curious to see where the problem is.

Mine has this issue too. I noticed it in the box even before I undid the ties - I had hoped that maybe the gap was there just because he might have been tied down funny. Nope.

Not sure how to fix it so I contacted Amazon to get a refund/replacement. Thing is it's now backordered 1-2 months so I'm not sure if I want to send it back and wait, or try to fix it somehow. My regular ER Optimus is just fine. This one, the left peg under the windshield just won't peg together at all, so his torso doesn't feel real solid.

Is the hinge straight or tab doesn't want to go in or tab doesn't keep chest in place?

Hmm well you see the gap there under the chest? I can push the top and bottom together to close the gap, but when I release it doesn't stay that way and just goes back to gap mode. The tab doesn't click in place like it does on the right side.

Seems like the tab shouldn't be needed to keep the chest down but rather prevent it from going up. That's why I asked if the hinge was straight. If the hinge is crooked, then the chest could look like that, even with a proper tab. Does that tab catch the upper chest panel at all?

It's so weird that so many people's torsos aren't pegging in. Mine is perfect in that regard. Really, just a slightly loose waist swivel and loose trailer tabs and a loose front wheel tab are my only complaints with my copy of the figure.

It didn't seem to catch no. I don't think the hinge is crooked, rather it looks like the front bumper piece as attached is just ever so slightly off so it protrudes down just a smidge (you can see the silver part poking out just a bit in the 2nd pic of Optimus unhinged). Shaving it down would probably help but that forms the bottom of the bumper in alt mode so I'm not doing that.

Anyway no matter, he's boxed back up waiting for Amazon return pick up. Will try again. Next time gadget. Next time...

After a blast of “burn your fingers” hot air directly at his back while squeezing his left boob tight we have a level chest....for now. Scared to transform him and see if it stays. Oh yeah I also put it in front of fan immediately after the hot air while still squeezing. Heat up and then cool down fast. Chest still isn’t perfectly flush against his stomach but it is level. Like you can see a a little bit of light between the two if you hold it up. That might be normal though, don’t have ER OP.

My chest problem was so small I wouldn't have noticed it if not for this thread. I'm hoping it's the flash (excess plastic) at the bottom of the windshield and not the pin. Need to find a file and file it down.

Just bought a second one on Amazon.com. Not sure if it is worth sending it back, since I live in Germany.

Once I have my second copy in hand, I will try to fix my first version. If everything goes well I will resell the MISB one, if not I will sell my junker for a lower price, I guess.

Hit with heat on the joint that connects the chest to the abs for a few seconds (it's hot as hell)

Hold like this over a fan.

You also need a non-headmaster Blurr since he wasn't one yet... and Kup was never a Headmaster at all but this is still the most accurate toy of him.

Anyway... this seems like the only correct way to display this figure... but where'd you get the "bed/table" thing that Optimus is laying on? Does he come with that?

Blurr was never a Headmaster, but he was a Targetmaster.

Oh that's right... Well all the more reason to use a non-Headmaster Blurr... although I just realized that like Kup there really isn't one without the Titan Master gimmick. I mean there are but IDW Blurr really isn't a good stand in for G1 Blurr. Ok just pretend there aren't legs on the back of their heads.
