Ironworks is just alright. But making a diorama that you can peg figures on to by their feet, or building a gantry for Astrotrain, is where it's at.

Here's how the floating platform structure is supported, for those interested in replicating this.

Frustrating problem with Iron Works; at least my copy anyway. The foot pegs to wear him as a modulator are a bit too big, and created stress marks on the bottom of my Astrotrain.

Found him at WalGreens and grabbed him despite reservations. The robot mode is fine, albiet with a loose waist swivel, but I just am not into bases, and have no interest in troop building with him. I totally see his appeal for some of you, and I continue to be impressed by the creativity many of you have shown in your improvisations, but just not a figure for me.

You are the first person other than me that I've seen take issue with the waist. Thank you.

Fortunately, I do love base modes so I'm still having a lot of fun but it's really frustrating that in robot mode he just has free floating hips. The slightest locking mechanism with the torso would be amazing, as I do really like the aesthetics of his robot mode. I'd hope for a future redeco that fixes that design flaw, but I'm not seeing it as likely since not a lot of people are talking about it.

I just picked him up yesterday, he's a lot of fun. The lack of windmill kind of sucks but I think that Grapple's claw is a decent enough substitute for it. I don't really display Grapple with the claw in robot mode anyway, so it fits just fine on Ironworks.

Back when I was just a spring chicken we called that a "Chocobo mode."

I picked this guy up on a whim today and I enjoy him much more than I thought I would! More than other weaponizers, too, which surprises me as I have no affection for his alt mode or that play pattern. But the bot mode and weaponizing other figures just shines. He really has an attitude to him: If you had told me he's a brand new member of the Wreckers I'd believe you.

I didn't realize he was so cool and could do all that. I've been turning my nose up this whole time because he didn't seem interesting. Books and covers.

Do you need more then one of him or is one good?
