A few pics of my Tower mode and the connector for the shuttle.

There's a tab on the rear underside of the shuttle that fits a small slot in the beast's front piece, behind the two disguised 5mm holes, which helps stabilise the shuttle.

Astrotrain won't mount on it though and Magnificence won't mount on Astrotrain's base either

Astrotrain: Hey, I'm a 100% SPACE SHUTTLE too!

    Sky Lynx:
Sure you are, Kid. Sure you are.

Welp, the brilliant braggart has arrived!

Sky Lynx is pretty much the only figure I've been looking forward to getting in this G1 oversaturation.

    He good...

I've got my crazy sky bird not-dinobot space lizard today. Only had a chance to have a quick play around with him. He looks fantastic. When I first opened him up my original thoughts were he's smaller than I expected but after combining the two halves he's a great size I think. He has great detail all over, not had a chance to put him into base mode just yet.

However... Is there a trick to getting the two halves to connect to each other? I've got the latch at the front right but the back of him doesn't seem to click in to anything, directions don't point out anything special. I need to rewatch some more reviews to see if I've missed a trick.

You need to click in the back part first you can see where it fits together. Line it up and push. Will be a click then you lock the front of it and its solid. It will hold the weight of the bottom part strong enough it even can be lifted 20200606_193549.jpg 20200606_193912.jpg

Just tried this and it is now super solid! Thank you so much, I was clicking the front part first but that doesn't work. Thanks for the guide :D

Got one on Friday. Good toy. Tail joints could have been tighter though.

I watched quite a few reviews, I notice how the wings fall at a certain point under their own weight, has anyone tried floor polish or other methods to tighten that up and keep the wings from flapping?

I'm in the USA and the soonest preorder I have is from BBTS for a hypothetical July release, my Pulse says September and Amazon October so I wont have it for a while but would like to be prepared.

I know another UK board member used Future on the wings & tongue, and apparently that fixed all of the drooping issues.

The wings do seem to sag on all copies straight out of the box, but depending on how you position them, it can be a total non-issue.

After having Sky Lynx for 24 hours, I have to say that he's an absolute blast. Definitely a sturdier toy than Jetfire, and feels like he's made of higher quality plastic too.

The functionality, multiple modes and Micromaster interaction makes him a standout amongst any transformer released in the last few years!

He may not have any spine flexion but he doesn't do a bad job!

Brief aside Dinoboid can also roost...
    DSC_0064.JPG

    Or even "chicken scratch"!
    DSC_0047.JPG

A handy tip for bird posing I've discovered is, as he's quite front heavy due to the mass of his head & neck shifting forwards in dinoboid mode, keeping the weight of his wings as directly in line over his legs or at least feet is the best way to get a solid standing pose. Basically try keeping the base rotation joints of his wing arms in line with his ankles in any more level or forward-tilted stances (tipping back you can cheat and use his tail as a third point of support).

    That might be me?
Repeated applications of Pledge (Future's current re-branded for in the UK) have gotten my Sky Lynx up to what I call FIREPOWER: 3!
    DSC_0046.JPG
They can both handle a 3-part size blast but the Lynx jaw is still the weaker and can only handle the smaller top three parts together.
I'd advise also having a close look at the mushroom pegs of your wings, I thought I detected a slight injection sprue burr or similar surface defect on the left peg of mine and gave it a light craft knife scrape, before Future-ing (well, Pledge-ing).
Before I did that the left wing would just pop off whenever I tried positioning the wing by the side, as in the roosting and scratching poses above which demonstrate that is no longer a problem but do bear in mind that they will still come off relatively easily, it's a safety feature, not a bug.
It took me a bit of practice but I've found "rocking" the shuttle into the rear clipping point can get him together solidly without always having to shove it hard.

Uh. Honestly, I had very little attachment to Sky Lynx as a character, but these pictures have really sold me on this.

Plus, I really started down a huge rabbit hole when I purchased Titans Return Fortress Maximus...and then Trypticon...and then Siege Omega Supreme. Something like 80% of my living room is taken up by stringing up these giant bases together and connecting them with smaller bases like Titans Return Blaster and Overlord, and I need to feed my addiction to grow these awesome bases!

It looks just as good (better?) as the MMC version and costs 1/3 the price? Sign me up!

I just preordered it on BBTS.

How does one securely attach the two beasts in their combined mode? I can see the switch at the front from the instructions, and I think there’s a tab at the rear as well possibly? Am I missing something?

Edit- sorry ignore me, saw the answer on the previous page!
