only color in the 4 little ridges
I agree with this. The ridges are supposed to represent the air intake for the midship engine. The surrounding housing should be the color of the car.
I specifically mean the vents, not the surrounding area
That's what I'm talkin about
Yeah it needs that
Perhaps down the line, an exclusive set with Earth mode Sideswipe and Sunstreaker with a better matched paintjob and black vents? T'would be nice.
Don’t, I learned the hard way that black Sharpie marker ink turns purple on plastic years later and it doesn’t go on evenly. Best to use paint.
Posca or Gundam markers might work but they might not go on evenly.
Alright so I've had Sunstreaker for a few days now and I'd like to clear up some info. You can get the roof to fit snuggly against the window...just don't follow Hasbro's instructions. And on the whole yellow thing, it's a lot closer to the same shade in hand than cameras make it out to be, it's just that once it shows up in a photo it differs, so don't fret. Also I'm the friend of Pixelmaster's that painted up Arcee and I took some time out to paint the vents too.
too bad they didn’t paint that section black. It’s not hard to do but really makes a big difference with it done. I hate mucking around with figures other than fixing up issues with loose joints or stuff like that. Customs and paint app la are not my jam with my shakey hands.
I feel exactly the same way. I’m a bit less patient than it takes for painting but I have to admit the result on SS make me very tempted to adapt.
Sunstreaker just arrived this morning from Amazon and I noticed right out of the box that some of his joints are insanely tight. Head swivel, elbows and the mushroom peg for his thigh swivel are uncommonly tight but the real issue are his hip bends—- right is 2x worse than the left and so difficult to move I’m afraid I’ll snap either the plastic or even the pin.
Is anyone else’s copy this tight? Is there any nonintrusive way to loosen him up?
After loosening up the joints my Streaker holds together better but still doesn't sit flush. The alt mode was MPM-6 Ironhide bad at holding together when I first transformed it but now it's just the roof which sits above the door and the front heels not sitting tightly like others. I would even suspect the roof was not meant to sit flush and that it's just my imagination that it fits better when only the bottom half is transformed.
- Hope Sideswipe get a remold earth form that's the exact same shape in alt mode.
- Still a little offended at the engine gun.
- Definitely offended that neither Streak or Swipe have spoilers. There's two holes right there! They could have given him a spoiler that turns into machetes. . .
As mentioned multiple times, the yellows in person match fairly well. On camera it looks way worse.
Can confirm, I just got mine and the yellow is off but nowhere near as bad as the camera makes it look.
For anyone with Earthrise Sunstreaker and Ironhide in hand: how does Ironhide's red plasitc variance compare to Sunstreaker's yellow plastic/paint variance in person?
Without offending guys but these is one of those cases where a fake chest is needed
Just kidding. I personally have zero issues with the fake chest and feet.
I think it would make it look a lot better
Ironhide is way worse. He has multiple shade of reds on him and really noticeable in person, especially the darker red on the lower legs.
