Hi guys. It me again After having sold off the previous Bumblebee and OP. I have decided to do another version of Bumblebee with the paint job design that I have did on Optimus Prime as advices by by everyone here. I have also custom made a weapon that looks closer to scattershot weapon inside the game. And have modded it so it has a ledge that pegs into the pegs of bumblebee's arms. I have did some changes to the face and wider the outer lid of the eyes abit to make it look more 'friendly" when looking at him at a side angle. I have also dry brush the internal frame of Bumblebee to bring out the details on BB. Beside these changes the rest of the paint apps is close to the original Bumblebee that has been sold off. Hope you all like my re-take on Bumblebee and hence his name is Ver 2.0
Many thanks guys for all your kind comments Will have him in Ebay soon. I'm still playing around with different custom weapons mods. Will make a proper thread on that soon
I don't really care for the black outlines on the scuffs, but aside from that this is a killer piece. The gun is really cool, and I look forward to the continued arming of the Bee
I really like this second version a lot! All the weathering on the bot parts look great. The bare metal showing through on the vehicle parts looks good again too, but looking at it this time it occurred to me that the scratched spots look a little too clean if you know what I mean. Like they're a little flat or something. I'm not sure what to suggest to fix that but it doesn't really matter cause he still looks amazing as is. That new weapon is outstanding looking. Also, did you make custom metallic/reflective stickers or something for his original gun, tail lights, and red chest shape too or is that just how the figure comes? If that's how he comes, I really need to get this guy cause that is some sick details they put on him. If they are stickers then where did you get them, how much are they, and why are you holding out on us dammit??!!??? Anyway, great job again.
Many thanks for liking this Ver 2.0 custom The reflective sticker is actually from a hobby stores that I have purchase. It call Foil stickers. Or Aurora stickers. It sold at my area for around SGD $5 bucks per roll. It cheap actually. I'm sure you can find some of them at your local scale modeling stores. It just happened that I managed to secure those while shopping for Gundam Model kits some time back. And they look great on the WFC series. I have also use them for the eyes for this BB as so for the previous ones too. The tail lights base color are from the original toy itself. All I did was give it a light clear florescent pink mist and they look nice and stand out from the other paint job itself. Even out of the package the tail lights and the other details is all there. So this is one of the best BB I have came across. Autobot symbols is from reprolabels, I always have a problem of the outer rim of the logo so I trim it till it very close to the symbol and then paste it on once the gloss coat is cure.
Well great find on the stickers then. I'll have to keep an eye out for something like that. I almost said something about the reprolable on BB's chest looking like it was sticking up a little too much. I'm sorry you're having trouble with them. Maybe you could try using waterslide 'bot symbols. I know Frenzy_Rumble sells them and they look really great (he uses his own on his customs). He has a video tutorial on how he applies them on his YouTube channel if you haven't used them before. Again, great job man. I can't wait to se more of your awesome work.
You have an interesting way of weathering and it looks cool. I think maybe add some brush strokes with chrome at some of the sharper edges/corners on the figure to mimic scratches and sideswiping as well? Just a thought man.
Got it Will try those when I start working on Megatron and Soundwave Or I could use it on Cliff Jumper when it is release.
