Were some ROTF robots modeled after the Transtech Line....?

    They dont really look alike, but in terms of overall aesthetic, Transtech is the closest to the Movie-verse for sure

    I don't think they were specifically modelled on Transtech. Movie designs were made to highlight their "alieness" and make them look like the transformations worked.

    I don't think there was any direct modeling, but the movie-verse Transformers obviously have a lot in common with the transtech designs in the alien look of their body structures and faces/masks

    Definitely.

    Whether or not the designers sat down with the Transtech stuff and said "Ooo, this this and this would work" might not have happened, but the bots share some similar traits.

    the resemblance between Transtech Megatron and ROTF Megatron is striking. They are incredibly similar, so much so that I have no doubt they looked at the design. Cheetor not as much, but there clearly are similarities.
