I went in expecting nothing and somehow, I got less than nothing...

These movies are truly something special.

 

And again, it doesn't matter what EITHER of you think, public ratings are public ratings. The facts are on my side.

 

The fact that BvS is loathed and still rating better than the Transformers films?  

 

I just can't believe how much I think this movie sucks... after defending everything after the first movie, this one, which had the most lore pulled into it, just kills it for me. I'm pretty stunned right now.

 

That absolutely sounds terrible, wow. So so so much wasted potential. Now were these the writers' fault, Bay or Lorenzo's? Hmm

At least after reading all you guys' input on the movie, I now have 0 expectation so that I wont be massively disappointed after watching it myself, thanks fellas!

 

No, the fact that the movie was generally well received.

Just accept it and move on.

 

Agree to disagree since I saw that film and wanted to die afterward.

Or I would have had I not turned the rental off in the first 15 minutes. I knew it was bad, but that was on a level of Speed Racer or Green Hornet trash.

The new generation is used to the taste of turds and seems to have no clue how much better it could be. Watching Bay screw my favorite franchise has been a bitter experience.

 

You need to calm down and back off. BvS is not a hill worth dying on.

I'm not even defending the actual quality of the film, simply pointing out your false claim.

Just accept that you were wrong.

Yes, you actually are defending the quality of the film by suggesting that the averaged results on sites like Rotten Tomatoes is wrong.

It doesn't really matter though, because there are people on this site who loved AoE to bits who are saying TF5 is truly god awful.

 

Cause its Transformers. I just can't not watch it!  

 

You know partly the problem with reviews is that it seems the internet always goes to extremes or biases when it comes to Transformers. I'm not defensinf or saying Bay's movies are in any way good, but it's "cool" to hate them. Transformers is regarded as top-level trash and everybody loves to hate on it creating something of a bias. Then, you have fans of the movies who are(usually) always something of blind loyalty, and people who dislike the film have to hate it. Sure, these movies aren't the best but it's hard to find somebody who isn't completly blind or biased in their opinion of them in either way.

 

Lol, I never said they were wrong, just that critical RT ratings don't always represent average viewer opinion, and provided polls to back that up.  

And did I ever even say that I enjoy the film myself? No, you're simply putting words in my mouth.

Of course I've also learned to stop giving two shits about what critics have to say or care what they have to say because IMO they contribute absolutely nothing to movie industry as a whole. I'll just go on Sunday like planned and see for myself. Spoiler Alert: I'll probably end up loving it like all the previous installments.
