    Not surprising.

In retrospect : TF1 had some major issues, but showed some potential. I would nowadays rate it a 6 out of 10.
From there on, this movie franchise should have gone upwards - but instead it took a spiral nosedive which became more
    apparent with every consecutive sequel.

You know.... the best part of all of it ?

The actual toys ; those have imo, been pretty good throughout all of it.

If you've ever actually watched the making of Transformers 1, you'd know that Michael Bay had as much creative control in that one as he did in all the other ones, so your assessment is way off base.

They wasted all of that time with the "My crew" scene and the Decepticons just get powned easily. Not even a factor in the final fight either. God I hate this movie the more I think about it.

I'm so tired of this. The only movie to really treat the Decepticons with overall respect was the first one. Now they're just target practice for the Autobots and their guaranteed victory.

Meanwhile if the Decepticons were actually a threat, the Megatron "My Crew" scene would have been really cool.

I think Metacritic is a better gauge than RT, and right now this one has the lowest Metacritic score of any of the TF films.

TBF, he's only defeated, not killed, and it's with some pretty good teamwork. They don't just shower him in ammo as per usual, they combine their weapons and skills and kick him off the ship. And even with one arm, he manages to pin Prime and knock him around. It's a dispatching you'd more normally get in Transformers.

It *is* a boon for the toys!

Also, would we have gotten TF Prime if it wasn't for the Bayverse movies? I think they probably helped the comics too...

Yea. Heck, even if you walk out, you're still out some money and you could've spent that time doing something you like.

It's not really that big of a deal either way, but it's perfectly cromulent to say, "Nah, sounds bad, I'm out," based on reviews, opinions from friends, opinions here, or whatever sources you actually do trust.

Been watching reviews online... even the hardcore fans who also still like the films are trashing this movie.

I can only hope that they reboot this thing.

I honestly will be surprised if this movie does as good as any other of the past 4.

I think at this point they should consider doing this to the current incarnation of live-action Transformer movies...

Reboot and start over, clean slate, everything. No silly MacGuffins that contridict things each movie, no Megatron working as an underling for someone else... Just something new!
