Hi Mr.Orci. I'm a big fan of your work, especially Fringe, you, Mr.Kurtzman and Mr. Abrams have struck gold once again. And I'm really looking forward to Star Trek. I wanted to ask you several questions. 1) Will TF2 be released in Digital 3-D? 2) What happend to shooting a scene in Washington D.C. at the Smithsonian(I wanted to be an extra!) 3) How many hours a day do you devote to writing. Why did you feel that Sideswipe was a fit for a character in the film???

Also along with the news about Sideswipe....It has been said Optimus combines with Jetfire..Is this true??? If so hopefully Optimus remains his own chaarcter for most of the film but 1 to 3 times combines with Jetfire to reach a destanation & of course kick ASS! I really like the idea though as long as it remains realistic and Prime still kicks ass when he is without jetfire.

Hi Mr. Orci! First of all, thank you so much for taking your time to answer our questions. It will be remembered and appreciated.

With all the posts in this thread I have little hope of getting any answers, but since you are taking time answering I should take my time to ask. "The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do" is one of my favorite quotes. But it's a talent i do not have, so I must warn you.  

Before the first Transformers I read the leaked script and I became a "negatron" for a period. I must apologize for that, I was a real a-hole looking back. Whining about Optimus with as a "nosetruck" and other silly things. You proved me wrong and God am I happy for that! I must also apologize for my crappy english, me being norwegian and all.

I ended up loving the movie, especially the portrayal of my hero Optimus Prime (the first toy I can remember having and an inspiration for me growing up). You nailed him and for that I am thankful. The movie transformed me from a 27 year old to a 7 year old and I loved every minute of it, making it my favorite movie that year besides "Into the Wild". Over to the questions:

1.) I'd love to se an autobot with the Dr. House-like personality (minus the stick). I know that character is inspired from Sherlock Holmes, only more "edgy". It would be a wonderfull dynamic having a "know it all" walk around annoying the autobots (especially Ironhide), but knowing they need him. What you think, an idea for the possibly future?

2.) I've always looked upon Optimus Prime as a pacifist forced to take to arms. A bit like one of the protecticons from G1 (can't remember his name). Am I way of, or is it some truth to that? Will there be portrayed any disliking from his part for him having to kill other Transformers (in wicked ways, I must add ^^)?

3. I'm sad there will be no Dinobots. I'd have no problems with them and I doubt the GA would mind. I loved Snarl and Grimlock as a kid. Make Grimlock be a warrior giving rats ass about hiding, and just take on the most menacing form he can find in earth history (after all, Dinobots did not hide in G1 either). The character could give great "sparks" with Optimus, with Grimlock being more of an utilitarian while Optimus is more of an idealist and moral out of duty (Immanuel Kant philosophy). Grimlock like the kind of Rambo character. Hell, have Sly voicing him (kidding on that one...) A bit of the Batman/Superman contradiction (or what the word is. Remember, crappy english). Is there any chance at all that Dinobots in a possibly future will come to life, and what do you think of my take on Grimlock?

Anyways, I wish you and your close ones all the best of luck. I thank you for giving me the movie I dreamed for for 20 years. You being here shows your treating it with respect and I applaud that.

 

Mr. Orci please excuse my ignorance, but i know Steven Spielberg is also part of this movie, does he have any influence on the story/shooting at all?

 

Does Megatron's new form have anything to do with his physical state at the end of the first film?

2. I heard alot of people wondering if the purple Chevy Volt was soundwave until i believe it was denied. Is the Chevy Volt then SHOCKWAVE? yes, no, maybe? because there's the whole SHOCKwave/ chevyVOLT thing. just a thought?

How have you been enjoying writing and inputting on TF2? Does it ever get really stressful (lol I hardly think being locked in a hotel with beach views and unlimited room service would be TOO stressful)?

Is there any chance that TF3 or any other TF movies could do some filming in Australia? Imagine it- Optimus Prime and some Decepticon trying to blow each other up on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, doing all sorts of acrobatics on it, Optimus trying to protect some unfortunate bridge climbers who were on the top at the time. Starscream lands on the Opera House and takes aim at Optimus, only to be bowled over by Bumblebee and make a mess by sliding down the sails of the structure and trying to hang on.   With you writing it, it would work.
