Five years ago I probably would have.
But I find myself with a growing collection and need to be more strict. And since my main interest is G1 accuracy, even though I like this it is something I can do without. Especially since I got such an excellent chug Computron from Takara and PE put the cherry on the pie.
The majority of people in this thread will disagree with me, but personally I would be more likely to buy more voyager versions of Titans Return toys or slightly oversized versions of Siege toys than original creations from WJ.
Except if they start a line of original designs with period altmodes in a realistic movieverse style. That would be my weak spot when it comes to original designs.
But redesigns of G1 characters and such isn't really something I can spend money on anymore.
I think a lot of people will applaud that though, but that market may in reality have more supporters than customers.

 

I love CHUG size reinterpertations of toys, and since I will never own a BotCon Predacus, I'd be all over this in the store.
I imagine it would be legit enough to exist in a store as long as you guys stay away from trademarks and have all original molding. The modern Zybots? If only you could buy that name brand for your toys.
The not-Tarantulas and not-Ravage are REALLY sweet a stand alone figures too, for anyone not a fan of the BotCon combiner.
I have been meaning to buy the original "Fighter Calculation King" toy anyways. Might get both.

I am pretty sure the creators of a project CAN start a thread about that project. In fact it makes things easier because they can edit the content of the first post in the thread with the most recent information.

A thread about a Predacus remold/recolor of this toy would be a great thing to start, or maybe the admins can split this post where this subject started into a new thread? Make it easy for everyone.

WJ wanting to make only original stuff? Pppffff guess I can kiss them a sweet goodbye. Outside of their omega , they have made nothing but ugly looking original design, that don’t have good engineering. They are great at making thing look good in their premium paint, but original mold wise, they are bad. This “computron” is something I want to buy for laughs and a sword, not as a collection piece. Stay with KO’s or start learning how to make good looking figures.

(Btw, for those that get this, can they show it in the hands of MP ultra Magnus)

I don't mind original robots - if anything i'm buying more of them than I ever have before - with things like MFT's E-Box - I'll likely buy that silly space crab and Submarine as well. They have to have some sort of hook to them though.

This one I like the Technobot Motorcycle mode, the vintage Videogames Starfighter modes on 2 of them and that one of them is a Batmobile (all be a red one) Also his sword looks pretty useful in it's own right too.

As for the post a bit higher up - well there is a website that exists that types a whole paragraph up if you give it a few words and it reminded me of that sort of AI generatted text. or an infamous Star Trek fan artist called Mystic Speney - -he talks like that too.

Not very flattering, my impression is that it is a toy for children, limited articulation. Nice sword tho, it's as big as the WeiJiang Sword for their KO Predaking (which is a 45cm combiner so it is ridiculous on this bot). Size comparison with the recent downsized CW Devy.

It is also from WJ but for their KO POTP Predaking. Note the round peg on the handle, it pegs directly into their Predaking's palm. That sword can be bought by itself, I bought two.

i like what i see there. in term of articulation, the number of articulations on each figures is pretty much the same as CW toys, so in that regards, i am fine with it.
