As much as that sucks, it doesn’t compare to the people who are arrested. That’s the worst of it.

Really not surprised Hasbro went after them. Fly to close to the sun and you get burnt. It is to bad, WJ and Black Apple where making some great stuff.

 

With what happens here, i have concern that 3rd party will be targeted too. Yes, there's an argument "they makes their own mold, not copying hastak". The thing is, WJ negamaster, their OS megatron, which actually a new mold, not an improved KO of MP36, is included on their list of evidence of counterfeit. Which means, as long as the toy looks similiar, the police will label it as KO, regardless if it is actually a KO or their own original mold. If this standard is what they use, 3rd party can be brought down too.

 

The police compared the KO against the original. The design is essentially identical. In other words, a copy.

 

Megamaster has no 'original'. It's not based on any official Megatron toys.

 

Let's hope they find some legal loophole, meanwhile I'll get whatever I can while I can.

Actual 3rd Party products that are their own designs are safe. Knock offs are Knock offs, and will eventually get theirs coming, just like what happened here.

 

Maybe, maybe not. It’s hard to tell how the Chinese police will determine whether a 3rd party figure isn’t a knockoff. It could very well be if a toy exists of a character by Hasbro, then that is enough for the Chinese police to classify a 3rd party figure as a knockoff. They probably aren’t putting much care or thought into the inspection process.

 

Oh man, I knew weijang would be gone but Black Apple too... I was anticipating to see their take on Chubu knight optimus some day and their other masterpieces.

 

It was already mentioned in the previous posts about why the Chinese Police did the raid and what they found. The main factor is that a product from Hot Toys and others were a direct copy. There's not much difference between the official product that was copied.

 

It doesn't affect my future purchase decisions. I would pick an improved KOs given the opportunity, but without them, it's not as if I would suddenly be motivated to buy the Hasbro/Takara original versions. It just means I will wait longer for 3rd party ones.

 

Wow if you look on showz basically everything is marked as "sold out" if you search for weijiang. Smart of you to get stuff when you did! I was gonna maybe sell my BA Prime but now I will definitely not sell it.

I was also really excited for BA Ironhide and Chibi Optimus. Those were two of my most anticipated figures of the year  

 

Black Apple made great chibi figures and I bought one of them last year. ( Blue iron for small steel cap )
I was eagerly waiting for their knight prime but then weijang manager(?) got arrested and then now Black Apple. I think Black Mamba/Aoyi mech will be next
