this website has been around for a while now! & sometimes it has to move with the times, so who would have liked to see a webcam feature introduced? that way, you could discuss anything Transformers, show off your TF Collection or Fanmade TFs, or maybe even resolve any TF toy issues or something non TF! like movies, games, non TF toys, television...ect! or just general chit chat. I know you can already do that via MSN, but I meant one on this site.
I've not seen any other message board with this webcam feature. I don't care for this webcam idea and I wouldn't use it. Most likely, it would be relatively costly to maintain where people just use Skype for free. If people really wanted to webcam chat they could just ask each other to do so.

It works perfectly fine the way it's set-up now. All this would do is pointlessly complicate things for the people that run things, and potentially attract creeps to this site. Really, what good would this actually do, when there are plenty of options out there for this kind of communication for those that want to use it?
well i'd rather pay extra for a Moderator monitored webcam service, in terms of security! rather than a free unfettered service, where anything could happen.
Why would you WANT that? Seriously, how would a webcam feature make TFW any better than it already is? Exactly. Use a service out there that exists.
I dunno why you lot are so dead set against this idea! but yet...willing to point out other existing webcam services + isn't that contradictory to the topic in hand? + do you believe, that it wouldn't be properly managed & monitored?
i just don't see the point. the point of a forum, is that we are able to post at 2 pm our time, and you can reply to it 30 days later. the point is that we are not all on at the same time. thus we are able to have a conversation about THIS, or something else, over time. and not have to stay here. and just come back in a day, or a week. or in a month. and then continue the conversation. it's a message board. it's not supposed to be live.
well....either way! I guess all that we can do is delegate! coz it's really up to TFW2005 if they wanted to introduce a webcam or not, which is beyond our control, but I just wanted to throw that question out there! to see what you guys thought.
Yeah, not too keen on the idea. I think it would bring out the creepers "show us yer tits" and I just don't think it's necessary? Typing is less personal, people are more likely to ignore someone being unkind to them when it happens as text, rather than someone screaming out 'fuckwit' to their face. Also, the cost of supporting that kind of feature would be quite prohibitive, wouldn't it?
some very valid points there. but wouldn't someone rather see, or know who's at the receiving end of computer they're communicating with? by typing, there's less uncertainty of whom that might be. YES they could always post a pic of themselves, but there'll always exist doubt as to the originality of the picture sent. but in both cases, you would always have the option to either block or disconnect.
Skype. It's free and I've even created a TFW chatroom with almost every TFW member I know whom has Skype.
