Hey Peeps, This is Kaye and I just wanted to drop by and give you guys an update from my source in the latest Cybertronian Enquirer on the Titanium line. Titanium figures are small, articulated, die cast figures. The ones I currently know of are Star Wars figures. Hasbro announced the first wave or so at Botcon 05, but here's the line up for the first 5 waves of figures. They will start hitting in May with a new wave every 45 days. Wave 1 War Within OP BW Megatron Unicron Wave 2 Alternator Sideswipe Starscream Alternator Jazz Wave 3 BW OP G1 Megatron The Ark Wave 4 Optimus Prime Alternator Smokescreen Bumblebee Wave 5 Scorponok Grimlock Predaking My source wanted me to note that the "Armada Prime" is listed as a deluxe figure. This could indicate a redeco of the smaller Armada figure or of a brand new figure, but rules out the redeco of the larger Prime (unless he comes in a smaller form like GF Starscream) and the larger Armada Prime. I'll also have some info on the first three waves of the classic line and the first movie toy up next week on Sat right before Toy Fair -K
I'm not getting this titanium line at all? It jumps around in ways that don't seem to make any sense to me at all... 5 waves and no soundwave, second seeker, shockwave? and what's this about a deluxe? I thought titaniums were all of the same size, and for that matter, I don't see the words "armada" anywhere on this list. can't wait to hear more about the classic line though!!! Andy
Cool. I had forgotten about these in the whole Attax thing coming up. It looks as if we should be pepairing for a storm of products from Hasbro as they try to Push TF's pre-movie.
I hadn't heard anything about this before now- are they transformable? Something tells me they're not, especially the Predaking listing. He's not going to be transformable unless he separates into 5 TFs. Are they going to be in robot or vehicle mode? P.S. "Sidewipe." Hee hee!
That part has nothing to do with the Titanium figures, but a rumor from the Enquirer earlier that an "Armada Prime" repaint/remold would be released in Cybertron. He was clarifying that it wasn't in reference to a C Prime repaint or a repaint of the large A Prime.
Those sound cool... I think there's at least one in every wave I'd pick up (if they look cool enough!)
The titanium figures would be neat if they weren't so obviously out of scale with each other... (that's how the star wars ones are)
Sounds very interesting. I can see myself buying most of those if they look decent. Looking forward to the info on the classics line too.
They have a really expansive range there, there's quite a few I'd be interested in buying. Are these painted or just bare metal mini figures?
Great, more stuff to clog up my shelves. Don't remember hearing about these before, but they sound spiffy. Probably a slightly improved version of HoC. I for one don't care if they're in scale with each other- it keeps them all around the same size and price point.
That'd be a little hard to do, as that Death Star one would need to be a metal ball with a diameter of like 20 feet.
Interesting. Was "Alternator Jazz" listed that way, or was it listed as "Alternator Meister"? Officially his name is Meister, it would be strange that they would call a figurine of it by its "fan" name (even though we all know who Meister is).
It's a really interesting (and a bit odd if ya ask me) mix of stuff. It's cool to see stuff that probably will never see a large transformable toy (like War Within Prime or Movie-style Unicron), though some seem a bit curious (like Alternator characters instead of G1 versions of the same). I'll have to see how they look when they hit stores. To those asking, I'm assuming these are metallic figurines with some articualtion, like the HOC PVCs, and not fully transformable. I could be wrong, but based on what the Star Wars ones are, that'd be my guess.
