I honestly don't think it was.

because classics 2.0 hotshot improved on a lot of things that made the armada hotshot toy so terrible. like more poseability, less kiddie sculpt.

The kibble on the back and Jolt left a lot to be desired for me.

I wouldn't say it's a failure of a toy. It's far better than Armada Hot Shot, neck-mounted spud gun or not. I'd call it a failure in engineering. There is no way that the back kibble shouldn't have been able to clear the shoulders. That's just ridiculous. You can barely ever transform the figure without having to pop those out.

What a loaded poll option. Absence of the missile launcher is not going to be the first thing on people's minds when they consider if Hot Shot was a failure or not.

the toy is fun as hell, if you partsform the kibble in a way that doesn't hinder anything

jolt deserves to burn in the pits of hell, i mean seriously hasbro, why?

I don't know if it's a failure exactly, though it is pretty much the polar opposite of the Armada toy in a lot of ways (and not necessarily in good ways)

I will go so far as to say Universe Jolt was a total F-tastic failure, unless you did nothing but keep him in vehicle mode.

I kinda viewed all the AEC & classics minicons as failure of molds. because they weren't that poseable. they lacked key articulated moving joints. plus they has balance issues when trying to display most of them in robot modes on display shelves.

I love the PCC minicons because there super poseable. that alone is a leaps & bounds improvement on the minicons toys.

the A/E/C minicons were frickin awesome, classic ones too

i actaully think the PCC ones are ugly, they have no character, they are just clear plastic

The TFU Hotshot was a milestone better than its predecessor from Armada/Micron Legend.

A special mention for the TakaTom version as it comes with twin blasters. :rock

Since the AEC minicons were basically energy batteries that attached to the bigger robot & gave them more energy/power. it makes perfect sense for the PCC minicons to be transparent colored plastic.

Dude,Give hasbro/takara some time. they love to over repaint every new mold. It's only a matter of time till we start seeing regular colored plastic minicons. I think there's some non-transparent PCC minicons in wave 2 or 3 already.

anyways when did the AEC minicons in the cartoon ever have any 2-d or 3-d persona's. only minicon perceptor had a in dept persona. the other minicons just beeped, acted like drones, slaves or low intelliengen AI maintenace bots.

I think Hot Shot would have been much better if it used the Henkei mold, even if it didn't come with the launchers. Having Dion really brings to light what removing just a small amount of plastic can do to improve a toy.

    Jolt outright sucks, though.

Universe Hot Shot is a much nicer rendition of the character. He has better proportions and looks a lot more like the overall depiction on the show, even though some details are different.

The Japanese version with the twin guns is the best, especially since you can arm-mount the launchers.

As for the Power Core Combiners, I'm going to throw this bit of speculation out here now: Wave 1 & 2 Minicons, plus the Universe Minicons not given a wide release yet in Japan, released as a part of Micron Booster Wave 6 in Japan.

That fig wasn't just a failure, it was an EPIC FAILURE! Hasbro had already shown us how awesome a fig could be w/ Cyclonus and then throws us this turd. Hot Shot made Galvatron look like a masterpiece.

No, It was better. It did have articulation.

Now if a can get a Henkei Hotshot's flamethrower missiles, then i think were talking about a pretty interesting toy here folks.
