Ah, but I DID foreshadow them. And the foreshadowing has nothing at all to do with Murmeltier. Here's a hint: It involved Prowl, of all mechs.
I nearly pointed out that you probably did anyway... & despite my memory problems, I remember Spoiler Prowl's call to Sideways... & that still falls into the "delivery" catagory... , though, I had forgotten about it till you mentioned Prowl... Oh, & I finally used your Explosives tutorial (w/ Pathos!), to actually make an explosion in my comic. Thanks for posting it... Update up now. Maybe I should ask about using ACO's name here, rather than in the appropriate places? I'm debating if I want to use Sideways later in my comic... I only have the bike one w/ 2 "Headmasters" though, from Energon or Armada.
The bike Sideways is not the same as GF/Cyb Sideways, but if you ask Pol, he might be able to get you some shots of the character. Remember, Sideways NEVER shows up in person, so you technically don't need a figure.
Funny, the TFWiki page for him list them as the same character, but that might be because Wiki sites are known for unreliability. Well, that, and Cybertron implies them to be the same guy, but the continuity for that is buggy at best, anyway.
I already have the shots Pol used in his comic, from saving the comic. So pics of his aren't an issue. & someone DID have him show up in their comic in person, in a RARE occurance of him needing to be hands on in that Alternity. That's how he likes, untraceable or the trace returns confilcting data. So it could be intentional... Or Pol's Sideways edited his page! This is what I was thinking. Few know what he looks like... None in my Alternity, so if "he" showed up, he could send a "clone", minion, toy w/ the same name, remote drone, reformat for the duration, or use a disguised image if he only shows via vid-screen. Which is what he'd probably do, as he's dealing w/ G1 Swindle, who DID sell his fellow Combiners when they were just partly scrapped. People may want to forget B.O.T., but it was a look at just how greedy Swindle is... I haven't decided if I want to use him yet (would have to remember what storage -- easily accessed or not -- he's in & track him down if I did want to use that character for "him"...). I'm considering that toy because 1) it's "supposed" to be the same guy, 2) he'd probably send or appear using a stand in, & 3) I'd like to get some use out of the toy.
I'd like to make two points here: 1. TFWiki.net is correct about Sideways. At least one of him is a universe-hopping character, so most Sideways(es) are the same guy. TFWiki.net is not part of Wikia, and is always a dependable and reliable source as the admins there WILL BAN YOU if you insert any information that is not officially confirmed by a primary source (Hasbro, Takara, Micheal Bay, etc.). In short, I love TFWiki. 2. I'm confused. What is up with Sideways here? Is this guy a crossover character? If so, what is he after and what does he do? From what I've seen he seems to be like some sort of extradimensional guardian gone rogue.
Sideways is essentially an extra-dimentional [Arms] Smuggler. Who will sell you ANYTHING, ANYWHERE... for a price that would make most Swindles cringe... Pol specifically set him up as a character ANY Funnies creator can use. I have to wonder why Sideways wasn't up for a Crossover Award? Man, that was a pain sorting out all those quote codes... I have one dimention hopper I haven't seen used in the comics I read coming up after I review Swin-- Munitioner, Explorer & Bruti-- Colossus: Spoiler Vector Prime . Not saying he isn't used, I just haven't ran across him yet... I hope to try to stick to a personality CLOSE to his, so if anyone else is using him & I need to pay attention to established facts or rules, let me know. I think those who peak will see why I might need a figure for him now... Or a stand in... May need to colaborate w/ Pol on this if I do use Sideways, eventually...
Correct. Sideways is a sort of mysterious figure, and antithesis to the MMS (Multiversal Management Society) and a kind of universal MacGuffin. He's a bit like an anti-Nick Fury. He pops up when needed, except instead of being a good guy who happens to be willing to be a bastard to get the job done, he happens to be a bastard who is willing to provide nearly any good or service as long as his price is met, with a little enlightened self-interest thrown in. He's a True Neutral. He's also available for any funnies creator to use, provided they follow the simple Sideways rules: 1. Sideways operates out of self interest. This means he always either has a price that must be met, or some vested self interest. Not that he always reveals this. In some cases, this self interest could be something as simple as ensuring the scales of a conflict don't get TOO unbalanced, so as to ensure continuing business from both sides. 2. Sideways cannot be killed, captured, permanently injured or altered. His organization cannot be destroyed or shut down. He can be thwarted, his local operations can be smashed, his agents can be captured, killed, emancipated, etc, but Sideways and the greater organization goes on. Not invincible, just too slippery to ever fully eradicate. If he is ever captured, killed or destroyed, it will turn out what was c/k/d was a Life Model Decoy. 3. Sideways does not pursue vendettas or act out of malice, vengeance or anger. He provides services, and collects payment. He will take action against someone only in the case where payment isn't forthcoming, and only up until he's extracted what he believes is fair compensation, if the agreed upon price cannot be met. RARELY he will refuse to do business with someone, but more likely he'll just impose a prepayment requirement. He's even willing to deal with the MMS for a price, despite the fact they're the ones who want him dead the most. 4. Sideways always honors his agreements to the letter. He values his business reputation, However, most beings don't always read the fine print on the contract.
Well, IF I include Sideways, I think a Multiversally aware Swindle/ Decepticons going after Spoiler Voltron's unlimited power generator technology, w/ a Shockwave to try to reverse engineer it, would constitute a severe Multiversal alarm for Sideways, as a Swindle who can sell Spoiler Unlimited Energy Generating technology to other Swindles would drastically throw MOST Alternities out of balance. If I use my Sideways, he'd be an avatar, as your Sideways would want a somewhat direct presence of some sort, but there are factors I definitely am going to set up that would make him not want to be here himself unless he had no other choice...
It's been fun seeing Sideways pop up in the various comics. Any way you can get him to fit in and keep to the character, it's always fun to read. And while we like to give Swindle his credit, I can't help but think "small potatoes" when comparing him to Sideways. Should be interesting to see what you decide on. It should also be interesting to see how Swindle delivers in THIS alternity.
He does, check out ECRF'S latest update where he got permission from Pol abd he was there selling weapons in person
Spoiler Vector Prime has been used in Sharkticomics. Sharktibolt set some rules but I can't remember where in his comic.
Speaking as a former contributor to TFWiki, that's hardly true. I was banned from there because I had removed some ridiculous "wouldn't it be cool if....." crap from an article, simply because an admin liked it.
I bent the rules slightly due to the nature of the current arc my comic is in right now. If Pol insists, I'm going to make it so that its still not Sideways in person but rather an avatar of him or some sort.
Could just be a Doombot. Let's face it; if any character in this site's comics has Doombots, Sideways does.
It took me a while, but I found my post where I laid down the rules for my character. I essentially stole Polenicus's Sideways idea in creating it, so......yeah. I've also used Pol's Sideways in my comic. I really believe he's done a fantastic thing for the comics by creating his Sideways. The fact that he's shown up in so many comics now shows how well he's been recieved. The character helps solve problems comic makers might be having. Such as myself when I needed to figure out how to get my Mao some armor: I had my characters go to Sideways to get it. So, Polenicus, thank you for Sideways!
Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for seeking it out... Checked the post & the previous update: Though, I only have the Spoiler mostly white one/ original release & will be calling him Vector Prime , so they won't be the same characters... Possibly brothers though... Might need to discuss that via PM... Spoiler & even if VP became VT, since he can time travel, it won't matter.
You're confusing canon and fanon. Get with the program. Firstly, I think that they just didn't want to Photoshop some sort of holographic or whatever function for Sideways. Secondly, that wasn't Sideways, that was a telepresence proxy drone.
