They've had the KO of all the FP insecticons on taobao for a while now if I remember right.

 

So the one that has a green sticker like in this photo is legit, correct. Because I don't want to get confused about what's legit and what's a knock-off.

 

Yep, a blank space is fine too... I have one that apparently didn't get a sticker applied during production.

 

I've checked and it looks like its part of the box. (Oh great does that mean its a knock-off.) But at closer examination I've notice that the paint of his visor looks clean and checked the back of the legs if they were rounded screw heads (they are not). Well I guess I got what I paid for, but I'm not sure if I should keep it or decide to sell it.

 

Ahhh... this is something you own? Yes... you should be able to feel the sticker... if not, it's definitely a KO, though there's other ways to tell somewhere in this forum. If you're having trouble deciding whether or not to keep it, perhaps it's not a terrible KO then? How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind sharing?

 

Yes, I have it. I did feel for it and got nada. Well I haven't really got it out the package to check on the joints and stuff of that nature. Well I think I spend about $95, now this person lives in the states so yeah there you go.

 

Holy crap you poor thing... you need to DEFINITELY dispute that purchase if it wasn't made aware to you that it was a KO. That's robbery even for a legit copy.

 

Well don't be sorry I was desperate to find one and ebay was my only option. And when I got him I was excited because it was on ironically enough on April Fool's Day. But now the more I see this figure the more I realize man I'm a fool.

 

Sorry to dig this up but need advise. I just got a set of FP insecticons from ebay and am not sure if they are KO. From reading this thread I'm guessing the way to find out is from the box. Well:

Backfiery - blue sticker, flat screws (also piece missing from left leg)
Stormbomb - No sticker, no symbol just empty box, flat screws but 2 rounded (loose joints)
Thundershred - No sticker, printed on R, round screws

I paid £150 (~200$) for these so not happy with the quality.
Is this just a case of bad QC or have I been conned?

Advise appreciated.

 

Not sure cuz I can't remember, but I have the real ones and the quality is awesome.

I think I have a mix.

Thundershred seems real as he's good quality (despite printed on labels)

Other 2 plastic feels cheap but box has sticker labels.

Are all 3 of yours of the same quality?
Also, are the colours exactly the same shade?

 

Sorry I wasn't meaning it like that I just meant that the over all quality is really solid and yes as for the color and shade it's the same. Quality between the there are the same. Hopefully someone with more insight on this will chime in and can help you better.

On closer inspection I found the alt head is missing from my Thundershred.
Also, isn't there suposed to be an extra set of weapons for him in one of the other 2? I sure didn't get those.

 

Yes there should be extra weapons, I don't remember who it was packaged with but there should be like an extra Chinese star thing and some extra blades. If the alt mode head is missing then that makes me lean towards a ko. I don't know that for sure though.

 

Well awhile back I finally got the real Thundershred, so now I'm happy.

 

Based on the info I can't say for sure that Backfiery or Stormbomb are KOs or not. Our shipments of Stormbomb came without stickers and Backfiery came with green stickers on the front. However the printed sticker on the front is a indication that it's likely a KO as the Thundershreds all came with stickers whether red/blue. Hope that helps

 

I love the quality on my three. If u upload photos of the boxes I can match them up with mine. I didn't get a second set of weapons for thunder shred though

Mine all three has round screws too

 

Weird but the Thundershred seems genuine even though it's box is without sticker. The other 2 whose boxes had sticker and empty square just feels cheap.

This seems to be the way to tell.
Round screws = genuine
Flat screws = KO

Did your Thundershred come with 4 pincer blades?
I see pics of him with 4 but mine only came with 2...and also just noticed no insect head

The screws are not the best way to tell as the KO factory can easily change that once it gets reported. The thing they can't change easily is the mold itself. Look at the netting on the arm. here's a good picture of the differences:
