I've been doing these alongside my adaptation of the ongoing Binaltech story. As I'm hopeless at real art (i.e. drawing stuff) I've stuck to photographs of the toys for images. Some of these photographs were taken by me, others were - ahem - obtained from Google image searches quite a while ago.

(With the benefit of more experience I realise it's a breach of nettiquette to just use it without asking, so if you recognise a photograph from your website, let me know. I'll be more than happy to either replace it, or give full credit for its use.)

    Anyway, here they are...

While I don't think it was particularly wise to use google-found images, these are really well done.

Ooh - it does thumbnails. How sensible. :)

Okay, two more Autobots coming up (Or possibly two versions of the same Autobot. It depends how you look at it,) and one Decepticon.

Nice! Looking forward to more - but you might want to double-check your text just in case (Zoom-Zoom still has references to Meister, where every other relevant piece calls him Jazz). :thumb

And rather than use net photos, why not see if one of the artists here might be interested in helping you out with a couple of poses?

    Just my tuppence-worth. :D

Good points both! I've fixed up Zoom-Zoom's profile now.

As for asking artists for help, I'm certainly not too proud for that: good idea. :)

In the meantime, I might just have to use it as an excuse to expand my toy collection a little more... ;)

google photos vs. Original BT dead end art.
    hhhmmmm.
    dumb question.
mako ,that piece is really nice. Lots of movement. The chrome on the hubcaps is so bling bling.
That is the executioner gun stance.wow.
I'd take that offer up quick if you know what's good for you!

    Damn right it is.

    I have. :)
My only problem is having to shrink such brilliant artwork down to fit on the page with the bio. Think I might re-jig it later to give that picture more justice, but here's the first attempt.

Macraptron, you're an effing genuis. I like that picture more every time I look at it.

This is probably the best fan produced Alternator/Btech resource I've seen yet. Please tell me you're considering doing a cover for this like the MTME profile books, so we can put them all together. I'd spend the cost of laser printing these all myself to bind up together if I had a decent cover to go with it. Please post Shockwave Wheeljack Grimlock and co when you're finished!

I thought "Jazz" was Meister in BOTH alternators and Binaltech.

    either way good job.

Officially he is, but then 'Zoom-Zoom' (aka "the red one") is officially called Meister as well. (In my adaptation of the official BT story, there are references to the "Meister programme" initiated by Mazda, which constructed both of them.)

And thanks for the praise. Macraptron: take a bow. :thumb

Nice job wreckie! they have such a better feel w/ mako's line art!
Props for taking on such a big challenge!
There's alot of BT's out there waiting for tech specs!
My only crit would be to tone down the background white a little. It's bright and dead end ;so dark. too high contrast for me. Can't wait to see more!

    Oh man that rocked...
If I weren't so full of work to do these days I'd illustrate the whole bunch just for the sake of having such a magnificent Binaltech profile book.
Are you doing this in Photoshop? I know for a fact that Quark 5 has some great text tools, you can define a image as a contour and the text will adapt to it for example. But it's great just the way it is :)

Oh, for some up-to-date software... yeah, it's Photoshop. And not a recent version either. But it does the job. Just.

Macraptron, it's an absolute honour to work with you, albeit indirectly. Any time you feel like illustrating another one, just let me know... and that goes for any other talented artists with any time on their hands too.

    (...I couldn't tempt you with Laserwave/Shockwave, could I? ;)  )

cromagnus: I originally intended to do all the Decepticons with a dark background like Ravage's, but it just wasn't quite right when I placed the artwork there: it just didn't stand out enough. I might give it another shot though...

Loving the bios, and that Deadend art is sweet!! The car mode pics in the bios are simply beautiful, as are the alt modes. Some professional looking stuff there.
Just a few pages on what could be the greatest BT bio book ever, just praying that you do more. Thanks for sharing and for all the work you put into those.

Give it many more other shots, PLEASE!

You're doing a great job! They look very professional. If I had seen this else where, I would have thought "Dang! When does the rest come out in stores?"
