If 5 Groups to play as was not enuf for you, well, 2 new ones in this expansion, one of them being the Tau.

My brother just bought this game and I am now trying to learn gameplay as well as picking the race I'll be playing. Both Eldar and Space Marines look interesting. But RTS is something I haven't played in a long time so I may lose interest in it soon.

*cries* I'm gonna have ot figure out what other games to uninstall so I can reinstall DOW and WA.... bah. Yay Tau (using the new Codex, I wonder? Mwahaha) and hopefully Tyranids... well, not that there's much else immediately recognisable in the game. Well, not that's not a sub-race of one of the ones already included in the game and first expansion.

I'm happy. I havn't got the first expansion yet, but I just got the game at the begenning of the year (I was sad to see the "save 5 bucks on WA" thing that ended on the 31st), and plan on getting it soon.

I may have missed something from the expansion pack, but maybe it's the Necrons? As was said, can't think of many other non-subraces, other then Necrons and Tyranids.

I figure it will be necrons as the second army.. seing as they have allready coded the Warriors and the Monoliths for Winter assault.. Sort of the way they did with IG.. allready having the Gaurdsmen and the Lemun russ tanks in the orginal ..

I'm still thinking Tyranids, but prolly the reason they haven't announced anything is they haven't finalised it yet with GW.

That said, does anyone think they're going to use the Tau as in Codex Tau, or as in Codex Tau Empire? The new one, due out next month, with an expanded race choice for allies... well, that's what it looks like. And new Crisis suits and stealth suits... dammit, I so wanna collect the Tau as my first RL army ><

Theres been absolutely no evidence of Tyranids.. I won't say that it won't happen.. But I would be very very surprised if it did..

Tau are an Ok army on the tabletop.. but are expensive to build a force with enough firepower to deal with things.. Like marines.. Thats allways the most important thing to build an army around.. Dealing with marines. as Marines will comprise about 80% of all your battles.. with Dark eldar and Orks being the least common ones.. and Eldar and Tau being numbers 2 and 3 .. with Imperial gaurd being 4 .. Deamon hunters and Witch hunters are lumped in with marines as far as im concerned.. Very hard troops but very few in number..

I didn't get the first expansion either. Decent game, but nothing earth shatteringly brilliant.

I'm certainly not going to spring for an expansion consisting of third edition shite like the Tau and the army version of the Necrons.

For everyone else who was waiting to buy the first expansion, it's 5 bucks off at Best Buy. Picked it up today, and man... IG are just as slaughterable and numerous as they should be.
