Totally get your concern, but FYI it is NOT a KO. It is the original set.

Was sent the link to this on reddit about the fixing the combiner port for Ari Burst so that it will detach from combined mode:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/transforme...r_2_months_of_delay_i_finally_have_warbotron/
"First I tried to scrape away the little tabs as much as I could, then I used a screwdriver to pry the combiner port and peg apart. Once I got them separated, I opened up the combiner peg on Blast Off and removed the spring and lock pieces"

A factory reject run, then? I know the original run wasn't perfect, but missing pieces, tight joints, things getting stuck... It looks so nice but it's one I'm going to have to avoid.

Eh, my original Warbo is tight as hell. Wouldn't imagine this to be any different.

The missing parts certainly makes me wonder -- it comes as a branded box set, so likely just bad QC when putting all together

Gonna try shaving the springy bits, see if that helps. Think I can get the parts replaced if nothing else works?

I did this with the combiner feet and gun. I really like this set, so much fun.

Did the same thing and lightly sanded ball joints to give everything a real smooth range v of motion.

I recently picked Heavy Noisy off the display shelf where he'd been kept in alt mode display for over five years now because he's a great-looking tank. As I'm preparing to sell him, I transformed him back to botmode to box up and I have to say, what an impressive product even after all these years. His joints are all 100% solid, the plastic has held up perfectly, the colors are still as bright as day one. Nothing shows stress marks and nothing broke during transformation. Sure, not much in the way of paint apps but that wasn't the style back then.
A lot of 3P manufacturers could learn something from the Warbotron production team. They built a really solid product with Heavy Noisy. Respect where it's due.

    I did. Not convincing.
It is better to remove the spring and its bits. The peg will hold up on its own, as Bruceofdoom said:

When you remove the spring and bits, do you have to do anything else? Has anyone done this but still had problems with it getting stuck?

    Nothing else on this peg.
A little more with sanding or untighting screws on others figures and parts.

Did anyone get that gift box set? Does it come with the fixes installed?

Based on most of the posts on this box set, none. No fixes, no replacement parts. It has many flaws of the original release.

I got the original release when it came out, and from what I remember, Blast off eventually had another torso come with Onslaught (I think).
Some found that using the original Combiner port with the new torso was the best option, as the new Combiner port was flawed.
I did this and had little issue. This may be a case of the new torso (fixed) on the new release. That happens to have the more flawed Combiner port.
Not that this helps but it could be what happened.

    Yes, that's right.
I used the new torso with the original peg, but also flipped the springs and bits if I remember well.

The replacement chest for Air Burst is installed, but other than that, same as original release. Also found out that the missile pods from Fierce Attack missing and BBTS at least is working to get them from the manufacturer. No time frame though.

Also there are two little pegs on fierce attacks torso that peg in the chest in robot mode that are missing on a lot of copies including mine. It's not the biggest deal in the world, and it doesn't affect combined mode or alt mode at all. BBTS is still waiting on a response from Warbotron for that issue as well. It's still a really nice set either way.
