Now that these pics have been PS'ed, the gestalt head doesn't look that funny to me anymore. Great job, guys!

    Looks so good!

So we haven't heard a peep from Warbotron since he dropped this huge bomb on us? I mean, dude creates an account, gives us one of the biggest reveal in 3P history and disappears (or more like lurking). He should at least come back and accept a standing ovation. I guess we will see a second post from him in October...

There is NEVER a problem with too much detail. Most figs either suffer from a minor to a HUMONGOUS lack of detail.

No worries, just hate to see people get into page after page of debate over an issue that didn't actually exist.

BTW, you've got the eyes a bit too far apart, if you look at a higher res version and zoom in a bit you will be able to see where the center nose bridge piece meets the eyes. :)

Man... It had to be my most favorite combiner too. i love how they all look! and I think it is interesting to see how it looks like they have the upper legs like so, giving it a vibe to how the toy did back then. But this might set me back with pricing. I might want to see a review of these guys first.

In terms of 'too much detail', I think most of the figures are fine. Swindle's chest is a little busy, as well as some of Brut (the part pointed out by GI EDDIE). The only thing that really sticks out to me is Onslaught. He just seems to have a ludicrous amount of sculpted detail all over his bot mode.

I just removed the dark grey (almost black) background (very tedious, i might add)

once all is said and done, it doesn't seem so bulky anymore.

That looks awesome! Thanks for taking the time to remove the dark background, Gauge!

The things I'd like to see changed though:
-A slightly larger gestalt head for Bruticus IF possible (it is possible the reason it's small is that it has to fit in Onslaught's torso, for all we know)
-Army knife instead of sword for Bruticus^^
-G1 chest instead of faux canopy chest for Vortex
-Optic band instead of individual eyes for Onslaught

I think it is gorgeous. if it is well engineered and has quality joints there is nothing to complain about in my eyes.

    The arms are off

The elbows practically sit in it's armpits

The more I look at the combined mode, and even the corrected photoshopped pictures, the more I am convinced that the biggest issue with it IS the headsculpt, especially the small eyes. The secondary issue is still the chest with low shield and windows.

The detailing looks great IMO. Most MP sized figures tend to have a lot of detail, and once the plastic is covered it tends to stand out less anyway.

Hmm I"m starting to notice some flaws in his design myself.

    - While the arm bots look like they can be rotated at the waist 360 degrees in arm mode to give him double jointed elbows their seems to be a tiny bit of kibble under the forearms that may make it pointless.
    - Even if this isn't the case the folded up arms on the upper arms look like they'll get in the way and he won't be able to do much more than a 20-30 degrees arm bend, so he literally might not be able to bend his arms to "fire from the hip" so to speak.
    - His crotch/hips look like they kinda just end once you get around to the rear side, he's possibly suffering from no-butt syndrome.
    - While the detail on the torso is impressive it's kinda out of place and visually distracting, needs more clean flat panels or simpler larger molded details.
    - Back guns are really short and look like they can't fold down to point forward like Collossus' can, more a feature nitpick I'd prefer to see happen but eh would suck if they cant move
    - Ankle tilt joints look a bit limited

But this is a proto, things change and ultimately every toy has its ups and down so even with these potential drawbacks he's still very impressive

There's nothing faux about it. That is the actual helo canopy. That said some G1 detail would be nice. I agree with Onslaught's eyes and the combiner head, though they're rather small issues for me.

Off for most TFs, yes. But then most TFs have freakishly long arms that down to, if not below, their knees. :p  That said, whether the arms have freakishly high elbows entirely depends on the presence of a 'double joint'.

This is one of my big pet peeves about the shown combined mode. Those back cannons should really be able to angle down over the collar/chest. And they could stand to be a little longer.

On the ankle tilts I'd say it'll have plenty as it looks like the feet are sided and if you look at the insides of each foot there's a pin joint which could be the ankle tilt, kinda like that UT Predaking......I could be wrong though.
