Got Siege Barricade yesterday at Target. Didn't see a feedback thread for him, and I Googled it and searched TFW2005 itself.

    So here we go:

    20191005_194553.jpg

This is the only character originally from the live-action movies that I wanted in G1-ish Generations form. Yeah, I know Barricade was a Micromaster way back in the G1 days, but this characterization of him as the 'anti-Prowl" bad cop debuted in the Bayverse, to my knowledge.

    20191005_194303.jpg

He comes with two pistols which can combine into a double-barreled blaster, or be mounted on his shoulders as cannons. He also has the detachable lightbar that came with Prowl, but there's no place to attach it to his weapons to make an axe. The axe was kinda lame anyway, so it's just kibble on his back and not much of a loss. He has some cues to his movie appearances like the horns on his head and the color of his face, but to me this Generations version looks loads better.

If you have Siege Prowl, then you know what to expect. Transformation is the same.

    20191005_194312.jpg

The guns can be mounted on his light bar or on his hood, as you like.

I do like Barricade's colors a lot better than Prowl's in both modes as well. The purple, black, and grey look really good on him. I'm guessing that the Cybertronian lettering on the sides of his doors says "Police", and I hope or wish that it also says, "To Punish and Enslave." Since we always need more Decepticons to balance the glut of Autobots, Barricade is a recommended purchase.

    I'll add more pics later.

Okay, more pics of Siege Barricade:

With shoulder-mounted blasters and using Blackjack and Hyperdrive as weapons:

    Close up of his face:

    With Siege Prowl:

    Vs. Prowl:

To me, Barricade just looks a lot more interesting than Prowl.

The paint getting cut from his forearms annoys me so much. I'm tempted to try painting for the first time to fix it

What color was the paint on his forearms supposed to be, or what did it look like?

I like to think that this Barricade originated from the Shattered Glass universe as evil Autobot Prowl who came to the positive universe and changed his name.

The forearms are highly prone to scuffing if you plan to paint, same with the waist.

Actually, I read on the TF Wiki that Barricade's forearms are made of unpaintable plastic.

Ugh, that sucks. That might put me off getting the figure then. Can't stand his arms looking like that. Looks like he's wearing a t-shirt with bare sleeves

FWIW, "unpaintable plastic" is entirely paintable by you. It's only called that because factory spray paints can't properly adhere to it and still be durable enough for average play wear. You should be quite capable of using any number of products to paint it.

Yeah, and out of all the colors, black is the easiest to ‘paint’ since you take any basic permanent marker and go at it - cheap and way more durable than paint.

It’s annoying, but far from hard or impossible. I fixed my RID Windblade and CW Wheeljack that way. The only difference on Barricade between marker black and plastic black is the spots where you used the marker will be slightly - but just slightly- shinier. :)

Barricade is still a good figure regardless. Mine was missing headlight paint on his left, so I painted that in.

People have painted in Barricade’s parts already. To help avoid scuffing the waist, don’t follow the instructions when transforming to alt mode. Put the middle hood piece in first and then collapse the belly piece part. The arms would be more difficult to avoid scuffing as they’ll likely hit the car doors during repeated transformations.

Someone tried to parts swap with Prowl via mushroom pegs but then you get yellow paint that doesn’t match and all black arms. More advance parts swap would involve undoing the flathead pins in the forearms. Don’t do that by force, otherwise, you’ll likely break one of the arm pieces. The flathead pin has multiple thick ridges at the end. Need soldering iron to help remove those. Very high melting damage risk if you don’t have a steady hand. Fortunately, the belly armor pin is very easy to remove.

I modded mine by making replacement / copy resin pieces. I don’t think most people would go to that extent.

It IS possible to tye dye plastic parts but getting a deep black is not realistic.

Love your stuff man, would it be possible to give this guy a nudge bar? like the movie barricade? i think he would look amazing with it. Have you also copied the shoulder guns as well? By the way, if youre going to paint, testors extreme spray paint is amazing. it is user friendly and is all in one, no primer needed. Even has its own sealant.

Hi. No plans for nudge bar atm. The "grill" area is just too small and there's no good non-destructive way of mounting one. Even if you were to mount it underneath, the belly armor hinge is in the way.

Because I casted the pieces in black resin, the only area I had to paint was the middle of the belly armor piece in lavender.

Yeah, I made copies of "Praxian" accessories. Each of them come with 2 of the 3 possible accessories. Barricade is missing the long blaster, Prowl is missing the shoulder guns, and the other two don't have the siren lights (though they really don't need them).

Since Guido Guidi’s G1 Barricade fan art (which this toy was directly based on) only has one shoulder cannon, I find putting one gun on his shoulder and the other in his hand works great to avoid the missing gun issue.

I really like the Siege Prowl mold so I expected to love this and...it doesn't disappoint! Only gripe is the lack of police insignia. It was okay with Prowl as he's colored like a Japanese police car. But it's hard to tell Barricade is police without already being familiar with the character.

Still...I love this mold. Keeping the two guns as a double fun for the sake of weapon diversity.

Just got this figure from Amazon today. I never bought Prowl, so this is my first experience with the mold.
I do like it, outside of the tiny thighs. Alt mode is nice and sleek, and that clear purple just pops.
Bot mode evokes the MP Prowl mold quite a bit with the transformation sequence, so it gets bonus points from me for that.
Looking forward to taking pics tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I do like this one. Not hugely keen on the little pistols, so I gave him new weapons that seem more fitting.

Is it possible to swap his hands with TLK Barricade?
