Is it safe to assume the Secret figure is Barricade (Prowl Redeco)?

lancer or barricade, we know barricade is coming and its reasonable to assume lancer is as well since the website codes for siege point to that, but we dont know when either of them will release. im inclinded to say its lancer though becuase theyve been more secretive about her

Lancer could well be Selects instead if there’s no new tooling and an emphasis on deco.

 

selects doesnt preclude new tooling, combat hero megatron is branded generations selects wfc-01 and has a new head

True. But I’m not sure that head was made for that. It’s an IDW head, not G2, and Hasbro usually has 2-3 heads designed initially for a body, even if they don’t use them all.

In fact, I’m not sure they ever design bodies without 2-3 head variants. So seeing a new head is not necessarily sign of extra work for a release. It’s probably part of the initial approvals process.

Especially with this head being a Megatron IDW origin story head, it was probably designed to give them a panel to choose from for the primary Siege release.

 

I really want Smokescreen from Transformers Prime.
He was so cool in that serie.
I do have a mp version of him, because he was already cool in G1.

 

The best version of him is the beast hunters deluxe figure. I picked it up from someone on here and got the repro label set as well as a shapeways accessories set. He looks amazing.

 

Blue and yellow is also kind of the Alternators version.

The red, white, and blue G1 version has an issue shared by Jazz, Red Alert, Prowl, and Wheeljack that the traditional G1 deco looks too much like a specific, real world car to make sense for a Cybertronian vehicle. Prowl and Wheeljack can pull it off and Red Alert got modified for Siege. Jazz takes sone creativity. Smokescreen doesn’t make much sense having his G1 deco on Cybertron. I’d support borrowing more from a mix of Prime and Alternators just because having him look like a very earth specific rally car with Cybertronian “38” on the wings is really silly for a pre-Earth mode.

It’s the kind of silly I’d probably accept easier in the non-story Selects line but Smokescreen is a lot harder to justify with his G1 deco in Siege.
