Hey, everyone, hope you're all doing well. The kind folks over in the 'WFC Siege Toy Appreciation' thread have encouraged me to start this thread to showcase this quick, easy custom that you can do yourself with one paint colour and one brush. Siege Laserbeak is a really nice toy, but everyone knows Buzzsaw is the coolest cassette. Even if an official redeco is inevitable at some point, I didn't want to have to wait, especially when turning Laserbeak into Buzzsaw is super easy. I painted Buzzsaw using Australian Export gold spray paint. I really like this particular gold enamel paint. It's got great metalflake and is bright and glossy. I've never found a pot of gold paint I like as much as this spray paint. To apply it I spray a small amount onto a plastic bag to use as a paint palate and brush the paint onto the toy by hand using a small brush. Even after painting Buzzsaw is fully transformable, so he'll be a perfect partner for Soundblaster when he finally arrives. I can't wait to perch this golden condor on Soundblaster's arm! Thanks for looking! I appreciate your comments, questions and likes. Have a great weekend! ~L~
Let me put it this way, I don't have any attachment to the "Shattered Glass" universe. I used Australian Export brand Gold spray paint. ~L~
Nope, I didn't take him apart. The only trick is to apply thin coats of paint and to resist the temptation to try to get it done all at once. ~L~
Since you're repainting these, why not also paint over the batch # (#E3561) on their wings? I usually just wipe them off with model paint thinner & Q-tips, it's cleaner that way.
Yeah, I could definitely do that. Like you said, a little bit of paint thinner will take it right off. The one little batch number on Laserbeak's wing bothers me a lot less than the C 2019 HASBRO SA C TOMY all the way down Rumble's leg and the VIETNAM V-2975B #E7151 all the way down his other leg. ~L~
