Wouldn't the self checkout machine just deny me the product like the scanner she used?

Yes, it will. It's been happening to a number of posters and no one seems to be able to get it from Target easily.

Would just scanning a different Siege Voyager do?

Really... i guess they have embargo dates in self checkout as well. I was not aware of that.

Well self checkout uses the same database as the registers. Why would it have been different?

The idea would be you grab two figures. Scan the first Voyager, let's say Soundwave, scan him, but put Springer in the bag. Then scan Soundwave again, put him in the bag. Buy both. Then return the next day and return Soundwave.

It isn't illegal or a scam, as you are 1) still buying Springer at the correct price and 2) Inventory is based on PID, not UPC, so it still balances out. But it is underhanded.

Hmmm... Walmart has anti theft cameras around the checkouts to detect when you don't move stuff to the bagging area. Your suggestion might trigger this. Not sure if target does this.

I know the trick. That wasn’t what the question was. The user was surprised that the embargo is on self check out as well. I was clearly stating that the self checkout uses the same database.

Target does as well but the cameras are there for more so when something gets stolen after the fact and to make a thief think twice since a camera is right in your face. No one actually watches the cameras. What the trick is actually doing isn’t fooling the system but the employee that’s standing in self check out to help the multiple registers there when there’s an issue.

Can't wait to see how you do it. I myself have my siege Autobots on the top shelf of my detolf case and I'm curious to see how Jetfire will fit, or if he even fits. Hahaha.

Wait....am I to understand that multiple stores are stocking product on shelves and refusing to sell it? How are more people not enraged by this? Nevermind what the product is...you don't put it out on the shelves if you're not going to let people buy it. At the very least, you've wasted the customer's time and pissed them off. If this happened to me in a store, I would complain to a manager and if he was a dick about it, call later and complain to regional management. That's a real assholish move for a store.

Target is the only store I’ve run into that follows such street dates. I found SS Rampage and BB Optimus in store around April but they were street-dates for the end of May. The clerk called for a manager and I asked him why they were on shelves if they weren’t available for purchase and he apologized and offered me 15% off another figure. When I returned a few days later those figures were gone so I assume they were taken to the back until their release dates.

Target frequently does this with videos and toys. Won’t sell em no matter what. But also frequently won’t check the back or go get stock from the back after confirming it’s there unless you make a row so... eh.

Thanks! He was one of those customs I never quite got around to finishing in terms of paint apps, so I haven't posted him in the custom forums or anything. But he's good enough for a team shot ;)

I enjoy customizing my figures, and the "battle damage" theme of siege caused me to give my figures a wash as you have seen in my post history. Well, it is now time to give Prowl a wash and detailing.
