Reprolabled Cog and Skytread/Flywheels.
Wave 2 micromasters showed up at work today. I haven't bought any of Wave 1 and don't think I will... I mostly hopped on this set for Laserbeak and Ravage. They're pretty cool!
The "Rescue Patrol" I'm less in love with. I share a lot of other fans opinions on there's guys- I just don't understand how they "fit" in the TF universe. Drones? Energon efficient buddies? Weapons? I dunno. Any how, one of StakeOut's legs has popped off a few times and they don't want to tab together very well in gun mode. Think they'll live here on my desk.
All in all, I'd say these are par for the course on Micromasters - I'd imagine the tapes will be like the jets from Wave 1 - hard to find while the rest shelfwarm. I'm glad to have the tapes but probably won't bother with any other Micromasters. Maybe WFC subline 2 will bring back the legends size class from the Prime Wars...
Thought this was interesting... Looks like the tapes can be shield-y thingies, particularly for Soundwave.
355 Ravages got destroyed by the autobots before yours.
Regular CHUG minibots go amazingly well with Siege dudes.
They're still using the Fort Max Silhouette to show how the gimmick works?
"Oh sure, if I'm late then it's a life or death situation, but when Impactor is late, he's all 'No big deal, wreck and rule'! Volcano-schmolcano..."
"Not by a long shot."
I know some people aren't big on "parts-forming", but I actually think the Siege Shockwave's odd lil'... "space dreadnought" is now my favorite alternate mode for the guy, or at least tied with the odd tank mode from Prime. His other aircraft forms always looked silly to me, and I'm not a fan at all of Shockwave/Megatron turning into guns.
Plus the shape of this thing is just amazing.
I do have a question though about the effect parts that come with Battlemasters, I think? What are the size of those things like? I'm pretty sure I can put them onto Shockwave's laser gun arm, but are there ones that's also fit into the holes on his feet-gun armor pieces, so the cannons on the far edge of the ship mode can look like they're firing too?
Just wanna gauge expectations since I want at least one of the Battlemasters, though since they aren't in any stores in my area I'm gonna have to look online.
The effects parts use 5mm pegs with 3mm ports drilled into the center.
Had to buy a new battery for my vehicle and went walking around and found these two together on the shelf.
Could NOT pass up, thank you Tax Return
Lucky fucker. Those are the only two I need and none of the three Walmarts or one Target I live near have ever had them while I was there.
All of the effect parts have 3mm holes in them to peg onto pretty much all of the Siege gun barrels. Most of the effect parts will also peg into a 5mm port. For example, Firedrive's will do both but with Blowpipe's you will have to take off the "splash" piece around the base to get it to fit into a 5mm port.
I feel ya brother, I’ve been looking Magnus and Shock for the whole January and the rest of Feb....if it makes you fell better my wallet is dying in my pocket...lolz
You don't have to take the "splash" effect off, it will slide forward enough for the whole thing to peg in somewhere.
Yea mine is too. Knowing my luck, the day I find them in stores will be a day before payday when my wallet is empty.
Damn't. The old pictures of Starscream didn't make him look this good, now I think I have to get him.
I hope for a Thundercracker and Skywarp re-color from this mold.
Okay, thanks to everyone who answered my question about effect parts, now I just gotta decide which Battlemaster to go for haha.
Well, I own all three of the currently available ones, so I’m glad to give my thoughts. They all have solid construction and good detailing, and they fit into their weapon modes very solidly. Firedrive has a nice symmetrical look, if you’re big on that, and he’s also got a sort of missile pod look with his feet: he looks great with Sideswipe, though I had to widen his peg slightly because he was a little loose in Sideswipe’s hands. Blowpipe (I think that’s the blue one who was Triggerhappy’s partner) is a little light colored for my tastes but actually feels really good in both modes, and he has a five millimeter hole on the underside of his gun component so you can kind of use him in a Double Targetmaster setup, and I’m waiting for Aimless to see how the look combined together, since Aimless is a retool of him. Lionizer has a decent animal and weapon mode, but he’s unfortunately my least favorite of the three: I still like him just fine and he makes an okay weapon, his body just feels a little bulky in weapon mode, and he really doesn’t resemble the original toy’s color scheme.
I think I would recommend Firedrive over the other three Battlemasters, given his design. He looks and fits even better than the one that came with the Takara version of Titans Return Hot Rod, and I own that toy as well. Blowpipe is also really good, and you might prefer the offset barrel design. And if you like swords, Lionizer’s fine, I almost wish he was a bit bigger so I could use him with one of my combiners and he didn’t look like a dinky knife.
Hope this helps!
whats that pipes and suffer figures
Ohhh, Well, I do thank you very much for your quick review of all of them haha. Though honestly, if I did get one it might stay in Robot mode on my shelf... or perhaps I can keep it in gun mode for my Misfire/Triggerhappy. My main concern honestly was the gun effects they come with and what might look best for Siege Shockwave's arm guns.
Mechfans toys, great little figures in my opinion
