For me it’s actually the opposite. I have been waiting for this guy for a long time and with his targetmaster finally in his hands he just beats Spinister. Yet they are both awesome

I'm always happy when someone really digs a TF that I don't. No toy goes unloved.

Haha cheers and thank you! I just love shooting the figures. Gives me peace and fun and a place to run with such a young family to look after.

I'm not in the US, and being a Target exclusive that you need a "red card" (Target credit card).

Via Amazon, it's selling at about 200$, and via eBay it's in the 100$+ range. I looked at other possible stores an again, either waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced, or out of stock.

But it's all good, my custom ended up looking amazing, deeper red, silver instead of flat gray, and a few difference that stands out better.

If you haven't see it: Heavy/Scratch: - Redwing, thanks to being hard to get, I made one.

On the fillers/ paints- spot on, 100% accurate. I enjoy this as well which is why I’ve done the same. Brings back my memories of doing Gunpla.

As for the experiment, awesome idea! I was going to do the same thing today with some extra pieces I have laying around as well, just forget about it for a couple of months and see what happens. I probably still will since I can put them out of the way and set an alarm to check on them much later.

I'm seeing quite a few lower prices.
$64-$65 from Asian sellers on ebay.
    £30 from various UK webshops.

You need to factor in the exchange rate, and the shipping... As much as I love a figure, I refuse to pay double/triple for a repaint.

With the leaders at 40$ CAD, I was able to get a Star Scream on special for 31$CAD (24$ US), about the same for Thundercracker and Skywarp (that I got at a bit over 50$ CAD, so around 40$ US).

So for that price, a few nights of painting, which has been a fun experience (so that's also a good point for me), I've ended up with an unique version that I'm very happy with.

I've actually got myself another Star Scream and plan to do something different with it.

I do really love the Siege line, but between the gaps, the lack of accessories, paint, cheap weapons, etc. I gave Hasbro more than enough money for all the ones I paid full price for.

For Earthrise, I'll be waiting for the sales as much as possible.

Well if you want a Hasbro Redwing, let me know and I’ll get one to you. Last I checked he was in stock.

I really appreciate that the Toyhax set has a sort-of built-in lower-key option by omitting some stickers, particularly the all-metallic option for the smaller thigh ramps. I haven't used any of the optional monitors/displays inside the torso as I see it as more of an exterior, if still sort-of enclosed, area, as well as Omega Base itself as a bit nuts-&-bolts bare and purely function sort-of set-up (I'm thinking about getting appropriately-sized LEGO tiles to stick 'em to before fixing them inside his shin "Control Rooms" but I'm hanging fire in case any cool options come up for in there).
Similarly I don't fancy the side stripes but love the extra road tech-greebles and blue track "Cat's Eye"s on him, so much so I've used some dabs of blue paint to continue 'em on his lower leg road humps.

    That'll do, r'kid!

P.S.:- If anyone is wondering "why do those windows look weird?" in comparison the the Toyhax gallery or your copy of the set, it's because I find the current window sheen design on most Toyhax sets a bit harsh/hard in delineation so I go over mine with an appropriately coloured Sharpie which softens it but keeps the effect in a way I prefer aesthetically to how it looks stock.

    Thanks.

I'm good at this point with my custom, but appreciate the offer. :)

Let's see how Earthrise screws us up with the exclusives..:D

Yeah, I'm still learning to use my camera but I shoot in aperture mode exclusively and have worked out some settings that I'm feeling comfortable with. I have changed to a 50mm lens in the last couple of months and am observing what it can and can't do well. Everything is trial and error. Noticing the value of lightning has been important, sounds so simple doesn't it, but it makes a heap of difference.

Idk, I feel like this take downplays how important aesthetic and appearance are to a figure’s overall quality. Sure, a solid mold won’t be any less solid regardless of what paint or gaps it has. But paint applications and gaps also contribute to a figure’s overall appearance which is a big selling point. I mean, this is a franchise built off of selling the same molds over and over again in new decos. So, sure, it comes down to personal taste, but I think paint/appearance can be as big a selling point or critique as anything structural to the mold itself.

Or maybe I’m putting too much thought into this lol

Totally understand, and yeah, it really does come down to personal preference.
Of all the Siege figures I own, the only ones I ever felt deserved fillers to look better were Magnus and Impactor. Even then, they were perfectly fine without them, but looked better with.
