You misunderstood me. I know why the Animation models looked the way they did. But Hasbro has stated that they wanted to keep the idea that they looked the same on earth and on Cybertron in Siege. That’s why the toys look the way they do.

I’m still not really sold on prime, megatron, Magnus or starscream personally.
Prime, I don’t like his vehicle mode and he doesn’t have a trailer

Megatron has a stumpy looking torso, like his upper half got squished

Magnus doesn’t seem like a significant improvement over my upgraded cw Magnus

Starscream I want to see his size in relation to other figures and more seekers before committing. Deluxe is the sweet spot for me for seekers in part because we’ve yet to get a voyager slipstream

Other than those four I’m pretty well sold on the line.cant wait till shockwave releases, hoping him and soundwave fit in my current figure scaling

It’s a bad idea. Optimus Prime shouldn’t look like an earth truck cab in his Cybertronian robot mode.

So do we know for sure we are getting Starscream Thundercracker and Skywarp from the same siege mold? We saw Scream and Thundercracker was mentioned at a convention(?) and now the leaked set has Skywarp listed. Wanted a set of the 3 but the classics is impossible to find and the cw leader figures is s but much for me

So the next question is why did Optimus Prime look like an earth truck cab in his Cybertronian robot mode? Why did Bumblebee have Volkswagen kibble in his Cybertronian robot mode? Why did the seekers have obvious earth jet kibble in their robot modes?

Dreamwave and IDW handled Cybertronian robot modes a whole lot more competently. Not Sunbow.

    I mean

    This
perhaps there were budgetary restraints, not having the time or resources to create new animation models for a few minutes of screen time. Also comparing comics to an over 30 year old Saturday morning cartoon is not a fair comparison.

These figures are trying to be based more on the original animation rather than modern comics so that comparison doesn’t really matter

Not much care about Dreamwave or OldIDW here so I'm absolutely fine with WFC:S designs.

Living in Peru and the figures are just starting to arrive for a few connected people who have imported them.

I just met a contact and got the following: Hound, Sideswipe, Optimus Prime, and Megatron.

I don't care much for Skytread/Flywheels or Cog at the Delux class. Just not my cup of tea, though I respect those who like them.

The Battlemasters are supposed to arrive at the start of Jan. and hopefully the Micromasters as well. No idea about Magnus or Soundwave yet.

So, as I type this, my wife and I are out having lunch with her sister... and I can't stop thinking about these toys as we wait for our food to arrive. My wife fully supports my hobby, as she likes them as well and collects Sylvanian Families (Calico Critters in the USA).

I cannot wait to get home this evening, enjoy them and add to this thread!

Honestly out of the Micromasters I've acquired so far (Battle & Race Car Patrol)

Flak seems to the best, with Topshot/Big Shot as a close second. Which means that I'll definitely enjoy Red Hot when he hits shelves.
I'm not feeling it with Swindler and Roadhandler though. Solid alt-modes, but not-so-solid bot modes. Especially with Swindler.

I'm hoping for an opportunity to acquire the Air Strike Patrol soon, and I really don't know if they can outdo the Battle Patrol.

lore wise i like the idea that the damaged skyspy looked for things that matched their cybertronian forms so as to save energon in the reformatting, so its less of cybertronian modes matching earth modes but rather the other way around. either that or its based on personality at that precise moment so wheel jack who was feeling too slow got a racecar!

I think, by hook or by crook, we will.

That said, I expect further retools and I FULLY expect some traditional "mold mates" will ONLY get earth mode versions. For instance, Smokescreen, who is hard to reconcile with a Cybertronian mode and that deco.

I could see Siege Prowl getting a Blue Streak somehow and a later, similar earth mode Prowl getting made who gets a Smokescreen and no Bluestreak.

The number of potential seekers is STAGGERING.

And I have a feeling if we do see most of them as Voyagers, it won't be from a single Starscream mold.

    Maybe, for example:

You get Thundercracker and Skywarp from Siege Starscream.

Then you have WFC Part 2 Starscream heavily retooled with an Armada jet mode and G1-ish botmode. And that gets reworked as G1 pre-earth Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust.

And then maybe WFC Part 3 is set on earth with a similar robot mode Starscream and it gets Acid Storm and Sunstorm.

They'd all be designed to display together in botmode but similar to the G1 clones, would have a few vehicle mode variations.

I can see that as a goal with the Datsun brothers as well. Very similar botmodes across the lines but different vehicle modes or even maybe different transformations to get there.
