That scaling tho
I like how Megatron is the tallest, even without upgrades.
Meanwhile sideswipe is shortboy.
(Disclaimer: my shelf ain't perfectly level, but it's level enough. Shockwave and I like trains are both without their boots, but magnus has his because that's his whole thing.)
The kids and I have also been dying the plastic with Ritmore synthetic dye and finding just using a cup and a half of water with 1.5 table spoons of dye and just seconds to minutes in the water off the element right after it hits just barely boil is getting us really nice color on all the limbs, however the bodies are not taking dye at all.
Brunt up close:
In my case, I think it helped that I used original Rit, Firedrive has a white plastic, and I used my Keurig to heat the water. Timing and size of the parts, helped, too.
I honestly figured I'd be out the $2.50 and carry on, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how it took to the plastic. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Just less time in the dye. Woo, way too long. lol
Those look great! I had been meaning to come back around to Quake and do the same. I love customizing the battlemasters. I once said in a joke I was thinking about giving everyone of my siege figures their own battlemaster. I dont think I'm too far from actually doing that.
The Rit has been a snap for arms and legs and gun/backpacks. The bodies as you've mentioned are tough, however they will take the dye, but it takes hours.
Here's a post from a while back of some that I had done earlier in Siege. Need to update this post with a new group shot.
Minor/Repaint: - Siege Targetmasters - the crew so far
A couple months ago, I posted these leg fins I'd made for Six Gun. I had them on Shapeways but the price (set by Shapeways) was pretty outrageous. I've changed the design to connect the two pieces with a little sprue, and that cut the price in half. So if you were interested before but turned off by the price, maybe check them out now. The price is still steep for what they are, but at least now it's not totally crazy. They're also posted on Thingiverse to print your own. Those look great! Later I'll take some pics of the ones the kids and I have done and post them in your thread. Mostly we've been using black, grey, red and purple as dye colors. I painted some when they all first came out but the kids played with them so much the paint started to come off in the joints so then we started with dye after seeing someone post about it here in the thread. Target masters are such a fun idea, I'm totally envious that Japan got knees on theirs I would have happily paid an extra buck for each of mine to have knees but... well at least we got something.
What is that sitting on top of the camera mode?
Thrilling 30 reflector minicon that came with skrapnel
I think you mean the little T30 Reflector that came with Skrapnel back in 2013. I thought it would be more appropriate for Team Reflector to wield him. He can also stand in as the team's miniaturized combined form for other mechs to wield.
Neat. But now I need to go find one for my group
Good luck! They aren't easy to get as far as I know.
i knew i was missing something
We have a winner!!!!!!
Wow, he's really that size to Magnus?
I guess the original rivalry is back then .
it can be done, we have the technology
Has anybody else had enough of Spinister yet? Just comin’ in at the final Wave and struttin’ around like he owns the place, thinking he’s a badass?!
Good, cause I haven’t gotten tired of him either. Because he kinda is a badass........
Just got Astrotrain in today! He's good fun and exactly what I've wanted since I got the classics figure as a child. I'm not a big fan of the coal car but it's alright. I really hated the battle damage so I stripped it off (thanks to whoever posted about him and Spinister being easy to strip)
This is both wonderful to see and deeply frustrating because I can't find Siege Astrotrain anywhere, thanks for posting it.
