I wonder if Apeface is gonna be a shelfwarmer. There are some mixed opinions about this dude.

I did call it a few weeks ago, he hasn’t really sold out like Impactor, Barricade or Starscream did (I’m talking about the UK so might not be the same) when they released.

I think it’s because he’s not really much of a main character compared to the likes of Impactor where Siege is his first mainline figure that didn’t come from somewhere else. I bet that Spinister will sell out too but Crosshairs will shelf warm like fuck.

You know I’m surprised it was Soundblaster over Blaster for the re-use, seemed so obvious but I guess not. He looks cool but it’s Soundwave all day every day for me. Blaster would have got me to double dip.

I read a rumor he's going to be in Earthrise. Hopefully a Twincast recolor will follow suit.

Is that milky plastic on Apeface solid or does it have a bit of flex? I’m thinking about doing some gundam panel liner work on it to bring out the molded details so it doesn’t look so dull.

That would be lovely, hoping to see Apeface get his Horrorcon mate Snapdragon too!

Not much flex. Well, not much more than usual.
If you're going to panel.line, I wouldn't suggest black. The white is cream-colored, and black panel lines generally look awful on that.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’m waiting until I get mine in hand this week to decide for sure. Is there a colour you would personally recommend?

He just looks so good, who would have thought we’d get this not too long after that TR headmaster

That’s delicious, hope it’s not at the end of Earthrise!

I feel that would work, just gonna have to see what details are actually hidden first though to see what I want to do before I attempt anything

My thoughts really. Spinister is gonna sell like hot cakes because the mold is incredible - no hollowness, double elbow, wrist swivel at last- but the Xhairs looks like the most lazy uninspired and unnecessary repaint we got in this line...

Spinister is probably one of the gems of Siege. He has a couple of potential repaint options for selects too on top of all that robust/articulation goodness. My personal picks would be Selects Rotorstorm with a new head and new guns to mimic the turbines. You could also get a Armada Cyclonus out of him if you really stretched, and I would love to see both.

I guess you could get a Whirl out of it too, no doubt someone already is hard at work butchering a Shockwave in perpetration!

I’m all for Crosshairs, but I wish he had his own mold or at least was given the 4X4 esque tires.

    Bluestreak-“He is your idea?”

Prowl-“Seriously dude, he is super strong. He will get the pod opened”

Bluestreak-“We are super strong, we could probably get the pod opened”

Prowl- “Totally, but it will be fun to watch this little dude rip it open”

Optimus Prime. I came across him on Amazon one day - not sure how. I'd never collected unless you count when I was a child, but something really grabbed me about that figure. It had a lot of that familiar G1 look I'd grown up with but with enough differences to make it feel fresh. The idea of G1-esque series set on Cybertron really intrigued me too. Also, I had always wanted an Optimus when I was a kid, but never got one for whatever reason. So I figured I'd treat myself to this one.

I was seriously impressed when I received him. Really brought out the kid in me. But of course now that I had Optimus, I needed Megatron as well, because of course he needs his nemesis. And hey, there's an Ultra Magnus figure that looks AMAZING. I've always loved Ultra Magnus - bought! Oh, and Soundwave and Shockwave. Gotta have them too. Needless to say the whole thing spun out of control pretty quickly. :D  I think that by the time Siege has concluded I will have acquired every figure except Apeface and a few of the Micromasters .... and maybe Astrotrain. I'm still not certain if I want him or LG-40 Astrotrain.

I'm kind of bummed that it's all coming to a close in a couple of months or so. I'm hooked on this plastic crack, but there is only so much money I can be putting toward it, and I'm not sure what direction I want take my collecting in from here. We'll see. In the meantime, I have plenty of awesome Siege toys to enjoy.

Agree with that. Too much contrast is an eyesore, especially if the black ends up too much on the panel line walls instead of just the bottom and/or the excess is not cleaned up.

Yup, I only had a later Prime as a kid.

I'm buying almost everything WFC but Astrotrain will definitely need to be on sale cos he's hardly visually stunning, and a bit of a swizz in terms of class/cost.

Big gamble on Astrotrain mate, he’s a popular character and is finally G1 enough for a lot of people. I can see him being very hard to get in a few months time.

    Also, welcome to the boards!
