I would just love them go get Octane right
Just removed the three screws to take off the upper torso. The lower torso, pelvis and upper thighs stayed together when I dyed it. It gets in there easily and dyes evenly.
Thanks for the info. I was on the verge of canceling my pre-order because of the height.
Just to confirm for myself, the left forearm on Omega Supreme, just like the head, has both screws and glue keeping it together. I was careful in taking it apart and not cause stress marks. After taking off the sheath, which is not glued together, and a total of 8 screws, started at the elbow and gradually started to separate the glued pegs. LEGO separator is helpful too. The forearm pegs are thicker than the ones in the head and should not snap off. There’s 6 glued pegs to separate (by gentle force). The screw shaft parts are also glued together and there’s 4 of them. The head has 4 glued mini pegs in comparison and you’re guaranteed to at least break 1, if not all, of them.
So, fairly risky for an upgrade in terms of damage potential. I feel comfortable taking stuff apart but I would assume others would not (on an expensive toy). I could see other people wanting to take apart the forearm to more easily paint the molded details inside the rocket interior.
Edit: Here's a picture of the disassembled forearm. For those who like to paint on molded details, this would give easy access to the whole interior. I may make my own LED mod and make a resin copy of the nozzle.
I wouldn’t call those two a mess IMHO, apart from the headmaster gimmick the Blitzwing mold is rather well done in my opinion. Of course the Hasbro paint job looks a bit crap, but the LG version would probably be my default Blitzwing EVER. I wouldn’t mind another WFC Octane but I wouldn’t bother updating TR one either.
On the other hand the hollowness and the shuttle mode (that looks like the back end had exploded) makes Astrotrain my second least favorite siege figure. If they redo Blitzwing I hope at least he is less chunky.
When I took mine apart to paint the interior it disassembled pretty easily. The glued pegs didn't break, and it all fits together nicely and is easy to reassemble.
This right here is probably the best, simplest, and most direct guide to how to dye these parts I've seen.
Everything else I read was quite frankly a bit intimidating, but this is great. Thanks @LongarmMagnus !
amazon shipped out my apeface today, should be in tomorrow!!!
Managed to get Siege Ratchet from Ebay!
I'm so happy
In the meantime they lost my Impactor 3-pack
I dont understand the hate on the TR triple changers. Personally i was more of a fan of the LG since they were G1 colored but they were all good looking figures. I know Astrotrain was the least G1 looking as far as both alt modes go. Not saying i dont welcome the siege version that looks more G1 and i will defintely be getting it, but you could easily say that the TR version was his siege alt mode to justify having both.
Octane was pretty faithful to his G1 self and you have to give props to Takara for going the extra mile with that ghost starscream head. I would much prefer some other characters we havent gotten, like a Pointblank from Punch/Counterpunch mold. Maybe the rest of the wreckers. Coneheads have also been sought after.
I know people didnt like the headmaster gimmick but hell, once its transformed into bot mode what exactly is the big deal? So you had to pop the head on to finish transformation.. Whoopdie freakin doo. pretend you didnt.
OMEGA SUPREME: ONLINE
FLIGHT MODE: ENGAGED
OBJECTIVE: DECIPTICON PACIFICATION
This actually holds together really well. The tank front is a little floppy, but the yellow lock pannels on the chest close over the two side tank barrels. The shin pannels also provide good support so the wings stay up and on. It's not quite the alt mode from the WfC game but it's close.
Definitely feels more Titans Return then Siege . No time to turn it into ape mode the mode ill keep it in till tomorrow.
Me too--I need a second Aragon for a project I'm doing and don't really want to spend $70 on another 3-pack.
My Target stopped stocking the Battlemasters. It's really odd, since they stocked quite a few of the first two waves and sold out fairly quickly.
I don't see Smashdown for sale online at Target; is there a good source for Battlemasters at a non -Amazon- inflated price?
Some new purchases i got them at universal i took this picture 40 seconds ago I'm glad to finally have them
oddly enough they had wave three deluxe and Thundercracker but no wave 2 besides Chromia and they had 1 Chromia which was odd they had 2 brunts and a Smashdown i would've bought him if he wasn't 15
Thanks for showing the Titan Master head on him.
I like this mode a lot. Well done!
Well I made a combined vehicle mode for the Powerdashers....
Follow the link to my Twitter to see combined bot mode!
