Picked up this guy and Prime couple days ago. You catch these guys at the right angle and they look great. Wrong angle not so much

I just didn't like the 3rd parties versions for him as they were just way too large. I spend a couple of week going through my spare parts and such, then walking in a Toys R Us, saw FireDrive on sale and it simply hit me that his gun was a two barrel weapon with parts between them that could be removed... so it's mostly just absolute luck that it does fit/works the way it does, but I absolutely love how it comes out... just a perfect size, with lots of details, angled up as the shoulders that are "long range" weapons should.

I wish that there was other weaponizers that this could be done with, but sadly, it's the only one that actually works like this, just complete luck.

Not gonna lie, I'm having fun playing around with Siege Mirage lately....

 

I actually IM'd TFSafari and they said that the current version isn't the same but the Ratchet Studio version which is the same as the IH version which will have the leg extenders.

.....I think.

 

There is a gap fillers set on TFSafari for Ratchet by GX Studio that's supposed to release this month. You can choose painted or unpainted. Ratchet is sufficiently retooled so not surprising that Ironhide gap filler kits fail on him.

I rarely buy gap filler kits since their cost compared to the base figure cost is relatively (too) high. The only kit I bought that has gap fillers in it is 115 Utopia's Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime kit.

 

Isn’t that what I said? Maybe I mis-spoke. I’ve done that before. There hasn’t been an announced set from ratchet studios yet but I wouldn’t bet against them putting out a set.

 

Ok, so I went ahead and got the Skywarp set from Amazon. Skywarp was the only seeker I had back in the day and I always dug his color scheme. I am happy I got the set he is really fantastic. Now I have to get Starscream.

 

I noticed mine went loose after putting the black guns in. They must have stretched his hand. Luckily it was only one haND so now magnus is a lefty. You could try taking the hands out and dipping them in boiling water for about 10 seconds. That might soften up the plastic enough for it to return to its normal shape. It would be easier to just coat the inside of his hand with floor polish or clear nail polish.

 

Their QC is hit or miss on most everything...keep looking, though, because I managed to find some with really good paint apps, so they're out there.

 

Good news Magnus' is fixed!

 

i got them both in today (after waiting forever for my preorder which never got filled, I ended up reordering) and Optimus is my fave in bot mode as his colors look really great in person...was a bit strange he didn't have a cool toon-style pic on the box like Megatron though
