Okay, but even so... when I hear the word retool, it brings to mind shared parts, shared engineering, etc., and I just don’t see any of that between those two figures.

I hear ya but I look at it this way the ones that have the cyber look didn’t flee cybertron right away & by the time they get to earth they don’t need to update their look just their paint job that’s where Toyhax comes in with the stickers to make them look more earth! I’m getting them all I just hope they now don’t go back & update every fig they already put out like SS hound & prowl! Even though I think prowl needs a update as do ironhide & ratchet but if we don’t get them I would be ok with that as they are all great updates!

I would prefer to change it to the war for cybertron appreciation thread to me Siege and Earthrise feel like the same series unlike CW TR POTP those all had stupid gimmicks that ruined 90% of the figures so to me Siege and earthrise are the same

I can live without it. Articulated hands are not the big winner for me, and if I want a battle armor trailer version I can get out the POTP Prime...that is my canon for it anyway. Prime reverts to Pax and the team builds him an armor trailer to power back up when the Decepticons go after the former Prime.

 

So, I really like the Cybertron versions in the Siege line so I don't feel like I am buying the same toy over and over and I like the idea of a before/after version. That said, I am excited for Grapple, which I never had as a kid, and since I have Inferno from POTP, they look totally different, so I like that. I am hoping we don't get updates of the characters released already like Prowl, Hound, Ironhide, etc. I know we are getting Prime, and I know we will always get a new Prime, which is okay. Unless the new Seeker mold is amazing I am going to stick with the Tetra Jets until the Coneheads are hopefully released. The good news is that if they are just updates, I will spend less than I did with the Siege line, so my wallet and wife will be happier...now bring on NYCC so we can see what kind of Wheeljack we are getting!

Nope. I put out of sight on friday and bring a bunch home for the kids to play with. We have tight security. If someone stole them, I'd be able to figure out who it is.
